Biography

Music isn’t scientific, it’s random. That’s what Get Along believes anyway. With no format to success and no rules, the duo finds itself an unpredictable act. In an era where two-piece bands are flourishing, Get Along uses a blend of raw instruments and digital synthesizers to create a full, inventive sound. Everything is played live on stage; because Cara Summer and Nicholas James believe that they should give their audience all of themselves. No prerecorded loops or playbacks. It’s about that night, at that time. And every show is different because of this.
The band mates are two cottage ridden kids, sporting old souls and vintage gear. They play new music. There are teen jumping electric pop songs, reverb drenched punk anthems, and stripped down acoustic soul ballads. Sometimes, they admit, it doesn’t all add up. The Indie duo by no means is a band looking to jump or create new genres; they just look to be themselves. Their 2012 release ‘We Lit These Torches to See in the Dark EP’ was presented to the world live from radio broadcast on March 24th. It was officially posted for sale on April 7th. The EP shows the dark side of the duo, as they mull over unrealistic careers, a youthful engagement, and their generations impact on the new American culture. The raw, home recorded product, has elements of new wave, punk, electronic, rock n’ roll and folk.
They won’t make you dance. They won’t make you vote for him or her. They won’t make you dress a certain way or say a certain thing. There is no black and white. There are no gimmicks or rehearsed speeches. There are two adolescents exploring their new lives through distorted guitar riffs, bass drum pulsing beats, and the performing arts. Get Along can only hope that you listen to their music, and have a strong opinion of it.
