SINGER BIOGRAPHIES:
Caitlin Beaupré, soprano
Caitlin Beaupré began performing at the early age of seven, when she began singing, dancing and acting at the Jennings Institute for Performing Artists. After earning a Performance Diploma there, she followed this up by earning her B.Mus & M.Mus degrees from the University of British Columbia. She has been a prolific music director, from established venues such as the Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver, to conducting and directing the Gilbert & Sullivan Society’s production of Iolanthe at the University of BC. Caitlin currently maintains a busy post as the musical director at St. Francis-in-the-Wood Anglican Church in West Vancouver. As a soloist, Caitlin has sung with orchestras and many instrumental ensembles, and has performed in musical theatre and operatic roles. A superbly versatile singer, Caitlin easily traverses many genres of vocal music from Baroque, through oratorio and romantic music, to musical theatre, jazz and popular music. As a professional choral singer, she has performed several seasons with the Vancouver Chamber Choir, the Vancouver Cantata Singers, and the Holy Rosary Quartet. Currently, Caitlin is a member of the dynamic new quartet The K Sisters, as well as the Juno Award-nominated ensemble musica intima. Caitlin believes that music and performance can lift humanity to a more peaceful way of being and that artists have the ability to change the world. Caitlin’s K Sister name is: “K-8lin”.
Katy Hedalen, soprano
Katy Hedalen began her vocal training at the University of British Columbia, receiving her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. She continued her musical studies on scholarship from the University of Colorado at Boulder, earning a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy. Upon graduation Katy was on faculty at the Oklahoma State University teaching Voice and Opera Workshop, and later as the Voice Department Head at the Merriam School of Music in Toronto. Known for her musicianship and silver-like quality of her sound, she has enjoyed success in many styles. Her appearances range from performing a staged version of J.S. Bach’s Coffee Cantata with Anner Bylsma, to themed Lieder and Art Song Recitals, Opera, and Cabaret Shows. Katy is an avid promoter of contemporary music; she has premiered several works, including a full-length opera and songs that were specifically written for her. She has performed at numerous venues throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. Some favourite roles include: Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Laurey in Oklahoma, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel and Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte. At present, Katy is a part of the high-spirited K Sisters, a group of talented women close in harmonies and humour. Her K Sisters handle is “K-Tone.”

Performer, educator and impresario, Karen is "funny, brainy and creative." Beginning with her classical piano studies at the age of four, she spent her formative years playing and singing in choirs, musical theatre productions, bands and orchestras. After specializing in vocal collaboration and chamber music for her second piano degree from UBC, she was recruited to teach as a Sessional Lecturer at the University for four years. During that time, Karen also won numerous awards that enabled her to travel to London, Austria and France as well as parts of the US for advanced studies.
