Biography
Since its conception in 1999, ten50six has achieved a strong fan base throughout Aurora, CO and has become known in the Denver music scene. Ten50six has undergone various incarnations evolving in both structure and style and currently stands as a unique expression of creative collaboration and as an example of what the value of music can truly be.
Shaped in part by its many influences, ten50six refuses to swear allegiance to any one style, scene or genre and adheres to the principle that music should be played for its own sake.
Though it may only be rock and roll, ten50six realizes fully the power music can have on its listeners. While at times music can serve as an outright expression of emotion, a statement of protest or a testament to ones’ life, it may also exist as abstraction of any of these, left open to the interpretation of those who are receptive. It is with the notion that meaning can be formed from apparent meaninglessness that we craft our lyrics and melodies unhampered by structure, yet driven by purpose.
Do not be mistaken; we do not see ourselves as unique or bestowed with a special mission. We write music because it needs to be written. We play music because music needs to be heard, regardless of whether it unifies or divides a crowd. We write music for its own sake.
