Artist Information

Biography

The original Wharf Rats started three years ago in Eric's studio basement with several friends who jammed together for many years. We have expanded the Grateful Dead sound, interpreted many new directions by jamming on Dylan, Doors, blues, and originals. The band's back line of solid drumming/percussion and bass is balanced with the interplay melodies between the guitarist and keyboard player. New dimensions of sound happen at every rehearsal and gig.

On May 14th, 2010, The Wharf Rats were honored to double bill at The historic Senator Theatre in Baltimore with the John K Band (John Kadlecik - lead guitarist of FURTHUR and founder of Dark Star Orchestra). John K Band opened for us, and John sat in on fiddle on four Grateful Dead songs. He played almost as sweetly as Vassar Clemments that night. We had 300 in attendance, a six-man HD camera crew, and a balloon crew.
