Jonathan “Johnny DANK” Duhon is a recording artist and Los Angeles native, looking to put a twist on what is now known as Rap/Hip Hop Music. Born in Inglewood CA, Johnny remembers sitting by the piano with his grandfather being impressed by the mentor of his early life. After being influenced by every genre of music in his younger years, he had a deep passion for the sounds of Blues, Jazz, R&B, Reggae, and Rock and Roll. In elementary school he discovered his skill for poetry and practiced daily. He started listening to hip hop in 1996 just months before Tupac died. Absorbing the lyrics of his idols Jay-Z, Tupac, Eminem, N.W.A, Snoop Dogg, UGK, Devin the Dude, Notorious B.I.G and more, he quickly fell in love with the metaphors and rhyming patterns used by the rap artist. His poems slowly turned into verses, trying to reenact the styles he heard on the radio and seen in the videos. Being that Johnny always had a natural talent for rapping he decided to take his career to the next level. His confidence, drive, and passion for pursuing a career in music are going to get him on the top.
As of now Johnny DANK’s focus is to promote his sound to be heard world-wide. With several new videos in development and constantly tweeting his daily antics and random thoughts, he’s trying to make his presence felt, seen, and heard in the viral world. He’s has performed shows in Laguna Beach, Pasadena, and other cities across the Southern California. Johnny DANK is currently spending most of his time, adding a lil more seasoning to his career, in the studio writing music, and collaborating with other artist to show how versatile his music is.
