Vicinal was started in the summer of 2007 by Christopher Jones. After two years of writing and recording, he released an eleven-song, self-titled album in March of 2009. Jones is currently playing acoustic and occasional full-band shows in support of his cd, and has opened for Dharma Records’ artist Jake Allen. In 2011, Vicinal was selected to be played on Skope Radio’s featured video rotation; was selected for airplay on KEPC Radio in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and was featured in a commercial for Colorado Springs City Council nominee Jan Martin, which was aired on Lifetime, Bravo, CNN, FOOD, Fox, and a few other major networks. He has also been positively reviewed by the Indie Rock Café, and Henry Newall of the University of Colorado, at Colorado Springs.

With a guitar glimmering pop hooks reminiscent of Matthew Sweet, Colorado Springs alternative pop one-man band Vicinal got our attention with the track “Alone.” Vicinal is completely the work of DIY musician Christopher Jones, who wrote, recorded and played every instrument on every song for his self-titled EP, released back in March. Jones tours around his home state of Colorado with friends and session musicians.
