Biography

The Violet Hour is a female-fronted rock band on the move! The band produces an edgy rock-n-roll sound with undertones of metal and blues. The band's sound has been described as "indie," "horror pop," or "retro rock," which has been influenced by the band's diverse interests in classical, jazz, and metal music.

The band strives to inspire hope and encourages listeners to "choose life." The band also supports an anti domestic violence movement. "Love should never hurt."

RADIO STATIONS: The Violet Hour can be heard on local radio stations in nine U.S. states plus many international/internet/satellite radio stations and podcasts including Maximum Threshold, Indie Castle, UNregular Radio (Boston, MA), Gaptooth Diva (Virginia), Warm 94.9 (Fayetteville, AR), The Edge (Little Rock, AR), The Fort 94.5 and Max 95.3 (Fort Smith, AR), Radio Crystal Blue (PA), Rok Out Radio (PA), PAW Cinematic (GA), and many more! MAJOR FESTIVALS/EVENTS: The Violet Hour saw an exciting year in 2012! They performed at the Indie Hit Makers Showcase (Kansas City, MO), Rock-N-Rubber Festival (Brookline, MO), Hemp Festival (Springfield, MO), The Berry Festival (Lavaca, AR), and Beat the Heat Music Festival (Heavener, OK).

In 2013, The Violet Hour will appear at these festivals: Rockin' 4 Alex, Green Country Ruckus Music & Arts Festival, Freak Arts Expo, and more TBA! The Violet Hour plans to return to MO, OK, AR, & TX as well as adding MS, AL, LA, & IL to the tour stop roster! Stay tuned for specific details!

Discography

The Violet Hour (self titled debut album) was released on November 5, 2011. The independent album recorded at Diamond Cutz Productions in Springfield, MO includes 13 original tracks, and is currently available on CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon. The singles from the album, "Either Way" and "200 Tuesdays" have received both local and national attention including radio air play, blog features, and movie soundtracks!

The band released a single, "Fugitive," on May 29, 2012.

The band released a single, "Dead Weight," on November 22, 2012.

The band released a single, "HBO," on December 15, 2012.

The Violet Hour's sophomore album, "Instigator," will be released Spring 2013!
