Biography
"Just good Rock & Roll"
Originally formed by present front-man Rick Jones’ uncle in Portland Oregon in 1973, the Water Walkers legacy has impressed crowds for more than three decades.
They toured Portland and the west coast playing at festivals, clubs, coffee shops & racetracks.
During this time they opened for several bands such as The Grateful Dead, Mountain, Golden Earring, T-Rex, Weather Report, Cheap Trick & many others.
After almost 15 years of performing & touring, the family business was passed on to Jones in 1987 at the age of 17.. keeping the tradition going by performing at Blues Festivals, Theaters, clubs, & opening for artists such as: Bryan Setzer Orchestra, Quarter Flash, Robert Cray, The late Paul Delay, Jimmy Vaughan, & many more. Flash forward to 2009, The band burst onto the Denver scene playin’ their first local show at The Zephyr Lounge in Aurora Colorado. The show was a hit and they’ve been performing in Colorado ever since then!
Based out of Denver, the band is well integrated in the Front Range music scene and has been well-received both in Colorado mountain towns and other western states. As a continuation of the original band, Rick and his musician friends carry on the rockers tradition to this day by performing a wide variety of classic rock & original hits while maintaining that killer vintage sound from the golden era of 70’s Rock & Roll.
Currently the band is working on a brand new Cover album and an Original album, featuring songs written by their main composer & lyricist Mike Nile (of the band Spirit). One of these songs (Ten Thoussand Ways) has already been featured on 97.3 KBCO of Boulder Colorado, and will soon be streamed on Pandora Radio along with their new album.
With smooth vocals, on Fire Guitar licks, the classic sound of Electric Piano & Organ, a supreme Bass line, and a Drummer with a meter that just wont quit, this is one show you wont want to miss!
