On last year's debut LP, What Did I Do?, Cristina Williams introduced herself as the Florida Girl with a Cuban soul and a redneck spine who had just waded out of the marshes to rock and roll New York City.
She learned much from Gotham, hanging out in dark clubs and grungy rehearsal rooms, drawing the power of the Ghosts of Rock Bands Past and sending it back out to the audience through her '72 Fender Custom and the Starlite Venus that the good folks at Daisy Rock gave her.
Cristina channeled those spirits into her second release, an EP named Cowards in Love. As the title suggests, it's a short collection of love songs that put the fun back in dysfunctional. They were recorded live and laid down fast to seal in the freshness. Folks have used names like Tom Petty, Joan Jett and the Pretenders to describe them and we won't argue with that.
Recording the album was a summer blast! But then the season changed. And after one brutal New York winter too many, Cristina made the jump to California. Now she's storming the beach, armed with her guitars and her songs. They're loaded and she's not afraid to use them.
- The singles “Cowards in Love” and “War Games” received airplay on Indie 103.1 (Los Angeles)
- Daisy Rock gave Cristina the gorgeous new Starlite Venus for an artist endorsement.
- 9 songs were licensed for the third season of WB’s guiltiest pleasure, “High School Reunion”

But she also has the ability to bring her personal and plaintive lyrics to life. Backed by a strong band, What Did I Do? has the feel of a live performance, with Williams' energy breaking through each song."

Pictures really are worth more than a thousand words aren't they? She does look suspiciously guilty now doesn't she? Well, she is guilty. One, for rocking her ass off on this CD, the other counts being that she sings with soul, power, and not to mention beauty, when necessary. So what else is there when it comes to good music? What's a girl to do after outdoing herself and completely blowing me away with some serious rock 'n' roll and a totally kick ass band? Absolutely nothing, that's what. Watch out guys, you may just fall in love with this hard rockin' diva; she’s got it goin’ on. "

Her lyrics show an investment of time as well, like on 'I'll Let You Go', a bittersweet tale if there ever were one. Again, a really good disc."
