Artist Information

Biography

Grolar Bears is a 19-person funk band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. “Cos: The Original Motion Picture Score”, their debut album, pays tribute to the scores of early 70s Blaxploitation movies. The album was recorded in dozens of places spanning over a year. We used “the suitcase” with all of our recording equipment in it to create a mobile studio. We snuck into churches, bandrooms, and auditoriums. Using sonic landscaping, we narrate through an imaginative movie. A trailer for the fictional movie was shot as a companion piece. Vinyl has been pressed for a release show.
