"Animals in Cars Release a Solid Debut"

This year-old Seattle quartet show a fondness for early Merge and Matador Records bands like Sebadoh and Pavement on their eight-song debut which is heavy on heavily distorted guitars and sunny melodies. "Nothing" could be an outtake from Weezer's Blue Album, and though the playing and production is a bit sloppy in parts, Animals in Cars ought to have no trouble finding an audience for this stuff. A solid debut - Seattle Weekly

Bio

Through sunny melodies and heavily distorted alternatively tuned guitars, Animals in Cars have delivered their own brand of noise to a multitude of venues across the Pacific Northwest. Drawing from a mutual fondness for indie rock, this Seattle four piece crafts music that builds off of sonic landscapes previously explored by Sebadoh, Pavement, Sonic Youth, and Unwound. Since their formation in late 2010, Animals in Cars have logged over 30 shows and a handful of media appearances, and their self-released debut "Motion Blur" was well received by their fans and has been met with solid reviews. In 2013, the band looks to expand their fanbase by playing in every city and venue that will have them in support of their soon to be released sophomore album "Tourist".
