"Nick James"

If Burtt's chops on the strings aren't impressive enough, he has a voice to match. Reminiscent of Warren Haynes, lead singer of Gov't Mule, Burtt's voice is raspy with a classic blues touch. - North Lake Tahoe Bonanza

"Scott Hulet"

"A work of astonishing depth, heart, and authenticity." - Surfer's journal

"Drew Kampion"

"like our consciousness, our ancient roots deep and rich, pulling images and emotions from a primal place that compels us with its pure familiarity" - Surfer'sPath

"Dennis Roger Reed"

One dare not call song lyrics poetry -because they are not - but this comes close.
There are many pop writers that toiled for years in the Brill Building and never came as close to a pop song that actually says something while inviting you to dance. - Folkways

"Steve Daniels"

"For me, the highlight is “That’s Why I’m Crying,” a Magic Sam tune featuring the gritty pipes of guest vocalist Peter Joseph Burtt and some stellar trombone and slide guitar. - Blues Revue

"Banning Eyre"

"performs with understated intensity and at his best creates a powerful mood. there's nothing didactic here, just strong, honest performances by a troubadour whose world is wide open." - Afropop Worldwide

Bio

Peter Joseph Burtt draws from many sources and chronicles the years that he spent living and studying with master musicians of Africa. Much of his music is played on traditional instruments like the 26 stringed kora and the Mbira, as well as the guitar and soulful vocals.

Mike Adamo, author of award winning book "the Breakbeat Bible" sets a funky foundation on drums.

Zeb Early plays rhythm, lead, and evocative bottleneck guitar with a southern style based in his Memphis roots.

Todd Holway plays keyboards, bass keys and powerful backing vocals. A master of many styles.

The members of this band have played and toured together in another projects for many years and enjoy a fine chemistry. The KingTide is less than a year old but already has solid support from Toubab Krewe, Habib Koite, Corey Harris, Bob Brozman, George Kahumoku, Eric Lindell, Ivan Neville, Stanton Moore (Galactic,) Adam Theiss (Jazz Mafia,) and
David Jacobs Strain

Currently mixing a new cd to be released Summer 2012, the KingTide's live performance is original, exciting, and inspiring for the dancers in the crowd.
