Biography
Peter Joseph Burtt draws from many sources and chronicles the years that he spent living and studying with master musicians of Africa. Much of his music is played on traditional instruments like the 26 stringed kora and the Mbira, as well as the guitar and soulful vocals.
Mike Adamo, author of award winning book "the Breakbeat Bible" sets a funky foundation on drums.
Zeb Early plays rhythm, lead, and evocative bottleneck guitar with a southern style based in his Memphis roots.
Todd Holway plays keyboards, bass keys and powerful backing vocals. A master of many styles.
The members of this band have played and toured together in another projects for many years and enjoy a fine chemistry. The KingTide is less than a year old but already has solid support from Toubab Krewe, Habib Koite, Corey Harris, Bob Brozman, George Kahumoku, Eric Lindell, Ivan Neville, Stanton Moore (Galactic,) Adam Theiss (Jazz Mafia,) and
David Jacobs Strain
Currently mixing a new cd to be released Summer 2012, the KingTide's live performance is original, exciting, and inspiring for the dancers in the crowd.
