Biography

"Bio Schmyo"

The end of 2011 brings many new songs from Buddy and his band, readying for a very fruitful 2012. Buddy is just finishing the first batch of new tracks since 2009 and has been busy since Alterations & Repairs was released in 2007 - touring, writing, and producing. Recently he collaborated with Ben Ottewell (Gomez) on his solo record, and is co-producing and writing tracks with Nick White (tilly and the wall) when he’s not writing for film and tv. Recently, Buddy recorded his own rendition of a hight school fight song for an upcoming documentary on bullying called “Mentor” that will also be released in 2012.

Chances are, even if you have never heard Buddy, you’ve probably heard their music over the years in popular films and television shows. Songs have been featured in “Grey's Anatomy”, “One Tree Hill”, and “Smallville”, to name just a very few. His track “Regular Time” was released this summer in the German film “What a Man” (Fox), and “Say a Lot” can be found on “The Big C’s” Soundtrack (Sony Music).

Originally from Portland, OR, Buddy moved to Los Angeles in the early 2000’s and over the years collected a family of talented musicians that eventually now form his full time band, Buddy. On drums, Michael Jerome (Better than Ezra, John Cale), Bass, Will Golden (Joe Purdy), Keys, Fil Krohnengold (Sara Bareilles), Guitarist Percy Haverson, strings, Oli Krause (Sia).

Buddy’s music has been featured in the iTunes store “Indie Spotlight” and CMJ's “Band Spotlight”. Buddy joined Aimee Mann and Howard Jones amongst others at Carnegie Hall to pay tribute to the songs of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. His rendition of “”I’m Still Standing” won him a a shout out from Mr. Taupin himself.
