Tamsyn Forlong
DOB:16-02-1994
Tamsyn’s music allows the world into the war inside her head. Between rich passionate low tones and energetic strong high intensity, her thick lyrical, original composition renditions both bring you into deep thought and send you into a raging plot, induced by real life relatable situations. Tamsyn’s music is highly influenced by how she perceives movies (Sucker punch), feels music (Oh Sleeper) and deals with turmoil in her life. She uses metaphorical imagery to communicate a message she is desperate to share. Highly influenced by hard core music such as the charm the fury, The devil Wears Prada, House vs Hurricane and We came as Romans Her vision is for a band that leans into many conflicting styles in the future.Tamsyn’s song Emma featured on the To The Nation CD. This song won best song at Rock Quest 2010 and with this CD it won Rock Shop album of the year in 2011. It now feature’s on the Play It Strange album 2012. Mike Chunn then created the opportunity for an interview with MoreFM and “Emma’s” first ear play. Emma was then on a LifeFM competition and was play a few times.
Mike then flew Tamsyn and guitarist Jared Stevenson
(from The Latest Fall Out) down to Wellington to play
at Government house. This was filmed by
Breakfast TV Three. Mike Chunn told Tamsyn and
Jared their performance was “a ten out of ten.”
Mike Chunn wrote about latest song Velvet envelope:
“strong song and performance.Great title too. I think titles are important.Tamsyn 'projects' herself so well.
She could take on any stage anywhere. I 'liked' the sonic bids page.”
While in the band Vision by Truth she opened
for The Esther Melody Band. And then in the band
From Thy Descent she performed at Fonterra Shout,Recognize
Youth Awards, and Christmas in the park,
Rock Quest Regional’s, Xtend, Parachute, and many
fundraisers. Though new to music, it is wear God
has called her. And this year at Excel School Of
Performing Arts she has been emirs in it.
