"MILEGE AFROJAZZ BAND; Repainting Elegance & Style in Music"

Milégé has since been on a journey to demystify the beauty of originally crafted Ugandan music, playfully delivered with an elegant traditional touch much to the enrichment of Uganda’s music sounds so far.
Having engaged in an insurmountable number of music gigs ranging from; corporate events, weddings, concerts and festivals, Milege has undoubtedly grown into a fully fledged band if their profile is anything to go by. However, a personal encounter with their performances will most certainly elevate your passion and appreciation for Afrocentric sounds as embedded in their music even further and deeper.

"Nawany: A sensitive Karamojong"

There is a feeling of revolution you experience as you watch Francis Manana, Milege Afro Band’s lead guitarist, invite Nawany, traditional singer, dancer and poet, to the stage. It is a quietly burning sense of revolution, and soon you start hoping that this is what Uganda has become: - Start Journal

"Uganda: Milege Jazzes Up Country"

"a double play of Awinyi, a song from their previous concert with a beat and dance from Mt. Elgon fused with the Adhola language got the audience to the floor. This climaxed the concert. But after two-and-half hours, the audience still wanted more"

"Milege,jazz rock stars !!"

Before you shout oxymoron , the title just refers to the fact that Milege , an afro jazz band , had the crowd behaving like they were at a hard metal rock concert. Fans were screaming , jumping up and down , dancing in their seats , throwing money at the band members and rushing the stage. I am a bit surprised that security wasn’t called in to restrain them. Probably the guards were also dancing. - The WorkZine

"Milégé Garners Mileage"

Milégé Afro Jazz Band’s October 29 Repainting Uganda concert at Kampala Serena Hotel’s Victoria Hall may not have been huge on in-your-face pre-concert publicity. But for the outfit’s loyal fan base, the gig was a great showcase of the diversity there is to celebrate about being Ugandan. - The Observer

"Milege Refreshes Kampala With A Musical Essence Of Colour"

Milege fittingly describes its music as a mix of traditional jazz, African beats and harmonious melodies. Basically, this means they’ve dedicated themselves to experimenting with all manner of genres and instruments. The result is refreshing. - proggie.ug
