This 10 fella crew is made up of Anonymouz, A.O.K. (Assault of Knowledge), Azrael, Copasetic, DJ Booz, DJ Kilocee, Nicky “The Chopfather” Scarfo, P-Butta, Risskant De Woordvoerder and Sythe.
The album begins the listeners journey by setting a foggy field of violence demanding to “Never to surrender.” It’s playful and edgy with a tinge of creeping demon-like backbeat. With menacing, haunting electronic rampaging the album is lead forward and leaves a feeling of restless fear. “Finish Em Off” is the highlight of The Album with lyrics like “Snoozed and you lose’d and you got to go/ Murder the messenger/ Our swords forged in lava ” with beats you can only groove to.
“Here To Stay” is a well chosen sampling that lays down the beat but the lyrics laid down in the first verse flow like a frozen river – athough the song manages to pick up in the end airing a strong presence with a sultry trumpet playing the background.
The ending track of The Album begins with the message of the song “How our knowledge has made us cynical/ How cleverness hard and unkind/ We think too much and feel to little/ More then machinery we need humanity.” The album takes you on what feels like a childhood nightmare with fluid lyrics and intricate beats. Check out Ill-Legitimate, these emcee’s spit evil lyrics so tight they’re practically padlocked.

Bio
Headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., this multifaceted hip-hop crew includes nine solo artists from around the globe, from Canada to Holland to Australia. They are: Anonymouz, Assault of Knowledge (AOK), Azrael, Copasetic, DJ Booz, Nicky Scarfo, P-Butta, Risskant De Woordvoerder and Sythe.
These producers, MCs and DJs have united talents under a common vision -- redefining hip-hop in its purest form -- without being restricted by genre. They sample from all music, from blues to Japanese folk, which results in a diversity of styles. But the quality is consistent.
At times you can hear a strong jazz influence, other times, a moody rock 'n' roll vibe, but always raw poetry and hard drums. From funky tracks, to hard bangers to somber classical melodies, Ill-Legitimate artists contribute something different, and have been heard in cross-Canadian, cross-European and Australian tours, opening shows for artists such as Aesop Rock, KRS-One, Immortal Technique, Wu Killabees, Souls Of Mischief, Smiff n Wesun, Choclair, Joell Ortiz and EPMD.
