Sinem Saniye, *Grand Prize* winner of the John Lennon songwriting competition, amongst many others, is a multi-award-winning New York City-based singer/songwriter music who's music has been featured on Delta Airlines, MTV Europe, and is currently playing in select radio stations and stores nationwide, including WFUV, Whole Foods, Cache, Gap, Hallmark, and music video channels across the nation. Sinem's had the prestigious honor of being included on a CD compilation alongside Tori Amos, Sarah McLaughlin, Ani DiFranco, Brandi Carlile, Sara Bareilles and many more, for the relief efforts in Japan, sales of which raised $16,000 for the Red Cross, a milestone she is very proud of.

Sinem burst onto the music scene with her debut album, "When I Don't Sleep..," which was produced by Grammy-winning collaborators who have also worked with No Doubt, Norah Jones, Fiona Apple, David Bowie, the Brazilian Girls, to name just a few. She followed up with NATIONAL US TOUR, (30 cities, 2.5 months,) creating a buzz and garnering press in several states including TimeOUT NY, The Village Voice, Global Rhythm Magazine, SPIN Magazine, DC IST, LA Examiner, LA Times, Portland Life, Idaho Tribune, Philly Inquirer, and more. The tour ended at City Winery in New York City when she opened for Grammy-nominated multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter, Lisa Loeb in a sold-out concert! Sinem also held her own when she was the HEADLINING ACT at Joe's Pub in New York City, to a sold-out crowd. That night Swarovski and Steve Madden music were in the audience to see Sinem, and are just a few of the companies that have taken an interest to her.

  New York-based Sinem Saniye’s critically acclaimed debut album, "When I Don’t Sleep.." displays a mature, well-developed degree of artistry, lavishly mixing the worlds of Pop and flavors from other cultures. Saniye’s artistic relevance is fueled by a sophisticated blend of Pop, Jazz, Bossa Nova, Latin and Middle-Eastern tastes in a way that could be enjoyed by music aficionados -the same kind that enjoy complex jazz music on a higher, cognitive level- yet the music is beautifully structured in its form and sound in a way that also make it easy to enjoy for Pop music listeners.
  
  Many of the songs on the album have won international, globally acclaimed awards, including the 2006 Grand Prize in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition among countless others, which goes to say a lot since all of the songs were written by Sinem herself. More recent awards include the 2008 Billboard World Song Contest and the 2008 Song of the Year Finalist (supporter of VH-1 Save the Music,) but behind the facade of all the awards, in all truthfulness, lie songs that are undeniably honest, heartfelt songs that are about her troubled youth, vulnerability, the search for identity, finding love in the most unlikely places, a curiosity about death and the afterlife, restlessness and fear, but above all, are downright great songs.
  
  Adding to the success of the songs are a team of Grammy-award-winning talents; Producer Henri Scars Struck, who has remixed for Madonna and No Doubt, mixing engineer Mark Plati, who's credits include working with David Bowie, The Brazilian Girls, Louise Attaque, and legendary mastering engineer Greg Calbi who's mastered albums for Norah Jones, Fiona Apple, Yo La Tengo, David Byrne, Ani Di Franco, and practically everyone under the sun.
  
  Although new on the music scene, Sinem Saniye has a bright career ahead of her. She's already garnered a world-wide interest with her debut album, and her first music video for the single "Are We In Love" is already spinning on MTV overseas. This isn't to say she isn't loyal to her hometown New York City. Sinem frequents such venues as The Living Room, -the same place Norah Jones got her start in her early days- and like Norah, if you happen to catch Sinem live at one of these shows, consider yourself as having experienced something very, very special...That is to say, if the goose bumps on your arm havn't told you that already.
