The last year has been full of milestones for singer-songwriter Christopher Dallman as he continues to watch his star rise. After years of touring behind his debut album ‘Race The Light,’ 2010 saw the release of 2 new EPs produced by the team of Barrie Maguire (Amos Lee, Natalie Merchant, The Wallflowers) and Rachel Alina (Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, Mika.)

Never Was, an EP of original songs yielded ‘Ghosts,’ the video for which hit #1 on MTVmusic.com and continues to air on the LOGO Channel.

Sad Britney, an EP of 4 classic Britney Spears songs re-imagined in Dallman’s own emotional palette reached number #6 on iTunes. It’s Dallman’s first record to chart and impressive numbers for a grass-roots, internet release.

Dallman often licenses music for Television and Film and has shared the stage with such notable artists as Amos Lee, Jonathan Rice, George Stanford, and Ben Lee. You can regularly find him singing for his supper at LA’s famed Hotel Café. Look for a new EP in the summer of 2011!

  One man heading this way from the Milwaukee, USA courtesy of Unearthed Productions is 26-year-old si...One man heading this way from the Milwaukee, USA courtesy of Unearthed Productions is 26-year-old singer -songwriter Christopher Dallman. ‘Mistake’ has the benefit of some snappy band playing in a stop-start style and fine harmonies in a hard-driving tuneful song. ‘This Is Calm’ is appropriately more relaxed, with a touch of sixties introspective folk-rock about it, violin and all, and a convincingly passionate vocal delivery from Dallman. ‘Over My Head’ is a deliciously laid-back reflection on lethargy and fear. Dallman is a fine tunesmith and his guitar-playing pulls no punches either. His distinct vocal style has touches of the lightness of a James Taylor or a David Gray. He is an assured performer who should find a ready audience for his intelligent and lyrical output around Europe.

  Christopher Dallman’s debut CD is an entertainingly literary pilgrimage into the inner sanctum of the songwriter’s psyche. If good songwriting confronts listeners with truth about themselves, their emotions, and their world from a fresh point of view, then the songs on Race The Light represent songwriting at its best. Dallman’s lyrics speak of thoughts and emotions that are common to most of us, but what is uncommon is the ability to express these things in an understandable and yet profound way.
  
  However, make no mistake about it, the literary merits of Race The Light do not over shadow its musicality. There are peak musical performances on this well produced recording. Dallman’s vocals are striking, if not stunning, demonstrating an appealing flexibility of inflection and pitch. It is a style that blends admirably with his skillful acoustic guitar work. The end result is music you can listen to and enjoy in just about any venue and mood.
  
  It is difficult to isolate a best song from the eleven offered on this CD because they are all strong and well written. The first cut, “Motel Room,” certainly has to place high on the list of best songs. This song opens the CD with a moving story line and an engagingly bluesy groove. The second song, “This Is Calm,” should also top the list of bests. It provides a nice resolve to the angst of the first track. Another favorite is the hauntingly cool and beautiful song, “Nighttime In The City."
  
  Listeners will find much to relate to and enjoy on Race The Light and will no doubt agree that it is a worthy and welcome addition to their CD collections.
