Where were you born Simon? "I was born and grew up in the Rocky Mountain region and grew up between there, the Tri-State area, and Hollywood region of coastline beaches." "A nomad of sorts from the beginning, but really I suppose I am just a traveler seeking purity and peace."

How long have you played and written songs for? "The music and words started coming to me when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I began playing musical instruments rather seriously at age 3. It was viola and then piano, drums, and big precision bass shortly thereafter. I am just a vessel or medium for this beautiful artistic expression. It touches others through the spirit and to their mind or soul. I am blessed, honored, and compelled to share it"

Where have you played in your career? "I have played a little bit overseas as you already know and some of the major markets in the U.S. like New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, Portland and anywhere in between early on in my career."

Were you ever in any other bands? "I sometimes played, performed or did some session studio work as a lead guitarist or bass player with other bands or performers for compensation and fun. I have mostly been an acoustic/electric artist, musician, and performer in my solo projects or bands that I put together."

Is this a new band or sound? "It is a new line up with me. They are excellent players and comrades. The sound has definitely evolved to the point where it will distinguish itself from everything else out there by being totally fresh, new, and vibrant. It will definitely astound people. I am sure of it."

What does the music sound like specifically? "No one can really say or place it. There are just too many influences. I usually tell people to tell me by deciding for themselves through an interactive listening experience. The fans can't seem to get enough. The fan base is definitely growing and they seem to love it! There are great diverse distinct songs, lyrics, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. It is really just the tip of the iceberg. I promise that there is much more looming on the horizon."

What are your influences? "Well, anything and everything that I have ever experienced through my external and internal forces, apparatus, or appendages is expressed through this medium of music that I play either with my voice or other devices that I choose. There is so much out there in the world or this Universe. This influencing process is continuously occurring all the time."

What is your vision or purpose with the music? "My sincere desire is to play heavy, melodic, alternative, progressive, dynamic hard rock that will blow people away by leaving them mesmerized and astonished. I want the fans to be entertained, feel good, and enjoy themselves. I love to play and entertain people. It is such and incredibly exciting and moving experience."

What else would you like to say? "People should not take my word for it. They should fully experience and check it out and then decide."

  Perhaps, you folks might want to take some action of your own with Ms. Katy Perry and writing team/producers/the label etc. It is quite obvious if you are a musical person, but to do it such a blatant fashion is just really low! I mean to completely disregard my Grammy accomplishments as a Grammy Voting Member and Artist! Regarding what? Well, how about that she/they swiped a couple of my main melodies/concept from my "Cali(fornia) Girl" song and put them into her "California Gurlz" song. I mean really, is it necessary to educate every unethical ignoramus by engaging in a ugly lawsuit! I willingly pursued being a voting member with specific independent agendas that benefit the greater whole. Where as Katy Perry membership was handed to her after her corporate record label lobbies to get her nominated. So, if you care enough I would appreciate your efforts and help in avoiding a potentially nasty protracted legal event! I really detest and find it quite deplorable to even be in this situation and would not be if katy Perry had an inkling of what it means to be ethical in business or life. I suppose some people think they can get away with anything. I am informing you that if I start the ball rolling permanently on this situation. I will not yield no matter the cost and time involved. I am quite adept at finding creative legal ways to resolve a myriad of tasks that might fatigue the mind and patience of others.   In my most recent research I realized that I am a all original somewhat reclusive performing and recording artist that has discovered that my debut 32 song 4 album release under 3 solo brand names Simon Thunder, Dylan Thunder, Ian Thunder and two band brand names Oxygen Detonation, Suicide Or Famous is a uniquely original first of any kind since the music Industry began with 34 1st round possible nominations in 13 diverse categories.
  
  The funniest and most amazing part of this story! Is that this is second stage of what will be my still completely independent sophomore effort which will be at the very least triple of what I have already accomplished. Without a doubt my place in the new frontier of the present and future music industry will securely place me as a historic visionary slightly ahead of my time completely unrivaled in both quality and quantity for years to come when this time line becomes the past of music history.
  
  
  Anyone who tries to discredit or belittle what I have accomplished thus far as a completely Independent Music Artist will only solidify and secure my position as the original maverick of the new frontier and future of music. An unfortunate result for this person, group, or corporate entity that tries to oppose me now will be that they discredit and destroy what they have built their career upon by selling out!!! It is done because I am the one. I am here now and what I have done cannot be undone! It is a matter of public record!!
  
  I am artist/writer/singer/musician/producer/engineer. I have never sold out and become corrupted by a desire of greed for success. I have truly earned the right to express my opinions and criticize everything else while opening myself up to the judgment and criticism of others and to the acceptance of tolerance and coexistence within this new realm of reasoning and reckoning. In light of this obvious proof that, I am truly the only musical artist & poet to defy an industry and court it as an independent beyond reproach.   **A couple of things I want to mention are that even though it was an a interesting experience to attend the Awards ceremony, walk the red carpet, and attend the after parties. I still see a few problems within the process.
  
  1) They only make the final shorter voting list available for listen online in the most popular categories. This makes it very difficult for the indie and relatively unknown artist to really achieve notoriety in the industry monopoly.
  
  2) I suspect that a lot of agents, entertainment lawyers, and not very musical industry professionals have a personal agenda for their livelihood with ties to industry artist that have voting memberships. This probably stacks the deck in the more popular categories and makes it more of a money and popularity contest.
  
  However, a few things seem to be changing. I mean they allowed a true independent artist like me to enter the game. That probably has a lot to do with the strength of my uniquely original material and savvy multiple badge brand of marketing. I am sure that with time and the entrance of more indie artists without ties to the industry like me will allow things to eventually become more balanced in the future. It was interesting to participate in the way that I did and I enjoyed the red carpet experience while maintaining my anonymity. Overall, I had fun time!*

  Thanks for submitting the material for the evaluation. I enjoyed listening to the songs.
  
  To give you insight to the scoring scale above, the majority of artists score in the 2.5 to 3.5 range in the various categories.
  
  Whenever an artist sees a 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 or 3.5 as a score in a certain category (or categories) it means that's an area I feel they need to improve and develop.
  
  When someone sees 4, 4.5 or 5 as their score in a category, that tells them, to me, they are in the professional league and have strong potential. It's a validation from a pro, letting you know you are doing a fine job.
  Every artist should work hard to earn 4.5 to 5 in every category. It's a very competitive business and people averaging in the 3's (or less) will probably not get too far without a great deal of improvement and development.
  
  
  I don't give out 4's and 5's easily, so any of those you see, you have earned. Well done!
  
  Mr. Thunder's Comments back to Mr. Foley are as follows:
  While I appreciate the insight and subjective perspective based on Professional Corporate music standards that include 4's, 4.5's, & 5's.
  The "Recording Quality/Production" score of 3.5 is based on 4 songs of small bit rate quality mp3 samples that he received that were not radio mixes or edits like the ones for sale to the public. Also, I prefer a mix that doesn't sound so slick. I like a more organic and analog sound; besides I wouldn't send him the high quality stuff I have for sale for free.
  
  In addition, "Song Arrangement" scores of 3.5 are purely subjective and not based on true original Rock or Acoustic music that comes along every so often to innovate and reinvigorate what has become the stale boring stench of the status quo Rock, Alternative, or Acoustic Folk music!!
  
  That being said, getting a "4" on "Vocals" and "4" on "Lyric Writing" and "4" on "Music Composing" is useful because there is always room for improvement in these areas because of the growth that this artist tries to strive for.
  
  Of course, I am delighted that my "Musicianship" was given "4.5" and again I know there is room for improvement there as well. Mastering an instrument can be a life long task given how much diversity there is within the different disciplines of music genre.
  Most importantly is the "5" that I received for my "Melody" compositions because this cannot be taught. You are either given this special gift or not. In me it is a very enormous gift in the magnitude of my vast compositional material.
  
  So, I am the chosen vessel and will continue with dedication towards personal perfection as I see it in accordance within my ever changing and evolving musical vision with the skills and devices that I utilize in the presenting the melodies in a way that pleases me first and then others.   My view is, out of possible score of 35. I received a "28.5" which is an average of the 7 areas on his scale. So, a 70% Recording Quality/Production, 80% Lead Vocals, 90% Musicianship, 80% Lyric Writing, 80% Music Composing, 100% Melodies, 70% Song Arrangement or a "81.5%" out of a possible "100%" total in 7 categories. ;) What production, *laughs* it was always and only just a really good demo. Again, my joke on the industry! Lol. Stay tuned because the best and real deal is just about to come. :0) *@cking brilliant!
  
  Considering, that I do everything associated with my creative endeavor. from the ground up including all the performing, business, accounting, recording, creating, marketing, managing, public relations, art, singing, promotion, being a student, reading, having a social life, traveling, and working etc...This and everything I do and have done already is astounding and I deserve an A+++. Really quite amazing I think!
  
  Most other artists have help or only specialize in a few things.
  Anyway, Rock Music has always been about shaking things up and having fun. It is often not about perfection, but rather the process of striving for it!   In my most recent research I realized that I am a all original somewhat reclusive performing and rec...In my most recent research I realized that I am a all original somewhat reclusive performing and recording artist that has discovered that my debut 32 song 4 album release under 3 solo brand names Simon Thunder, Dylan Thunder, Ian Thunder and two band brand names Oxygen Detonation, Suicide Or Famous is a uniquely original first of any kind since the music Industry began.
  
  The funniest and most amazing part of this story! Is that this is second stage of what will be my still completely independent sophomore effort which will be at the very least triple of what I have already accomplished. Without a doubt my place in the new frontier of the present and future music industry will securely place me as a historic visionary slightly ahead of my time completely unrivaled in both quality and quantity for years to come when this timeline becomes the past of music history.
  
  As a artist/writer/singer/musician/producer/engineer who has never sold out and become corrupted I have truly earned the right to express my opinions and criticize everything else while opening myself up to the judgement and criticism of others and to the acceptance of tolerance and coexistence within this new realm.   *A couple of things I want to mention are that even though it was an an interesting experience to attend the Awards ceremony, walk the red carpet, and attend the after parties. I still seee a few problems within the process.
  
  1) They only make the final shorter voting list available for listen online in the most popular categories. This makes it very difficult for the indie and relatively unknown artist to really achieve notoriety in the industry monopoly.
  
  2) I suspect that a lot of agents, entertainment lawyers, and not very musical industry professionals have a personal agenda for livelihood with ties to industry artist that have voting memberships. this probably stacks the deck in the more popular categories and makes more of a money and popularity contest.
  
  However, a few things seem to be changing apparently. I mean they allowed a true independent artist like me to enter the game. That probably has a lot to do with the strength of my uniquely original material. I am sure that with time and the entrance of more indie artists without ties to the industry like myself things will eventually become more balanced in the future. Anyway, I enjoyed the red carpet experience while maintaining my anonymity. Overall, I had fun time!*
  
  
  By the way, as a side note. In the not very distant future I will show all other interested artists how to really deal with shady corporate dinosaurs like TicketMaster for the sake of their fans. The most hilarious thing about the strategy I will implement is that it grew out of my desire to give my enthusiastic fans a more intimate and true live concert experience and not to defeat or undermine another business. Nevertheless, if necessity is truly the mother of invention. Then just consider SimonJulianXanderHunterThunder as the unwitting designate of a more universally powerful force and pioneering maverick outsider not to be denied versus the Goliath of ticket sales.   The funny thing about charlatans like this industry guy or group review is that they are a part of the parasitic environment of agents, managers, entertainment lawyers, radio traffickers, indie/major labels, artists who sell out their integrity, and any other kind middle men or women etc. who sponge off the talent of real artists to create a revenue for themselves.   This so called well connected, industry respected, Harvard graduate, blah blah blah, etc. Did a review of some of my songs... the most hilarious things about all of his comments are the truths that are not mentioned. 1) My songs that are rated on his review are all non-cd mp3 sound quality. 2) The other is that there are radio edits of my songs as well as long artistic versions. The radio edits were edited for some fans who asked for them and not because of industry requests as I could care less. 3) All of the 32 diverse acoustic and band recordings (except my band Suicide Or Famous- Atropos and Golden Orb) that were released in 2008 were recorded completely live after a long flight and non-rehearsed wake up. Also, the mere fact of what is possible for me as a artist if I were to be thrust into the corporate arena would literally leave every other musical persona in the dust. All that I have already accomplished as a indie artist already raises the bar. I am beyond comparison and the new emerging standard of excellence. Even according to the industry scale below I am at the top level without even trying just by waking up and doing everything myself. My melodies at the top of the scale is the most important thing to me because that cannot be learned. It must be given spiritually from beyond this dimension. Everything else can be learned, trained, or performed by any capable intelligent mammal. Therefore, I am the chosen one to sound the call from the wilderness before the utter of the Seven Thunders!   Example: According to the guy below: Rap music music stretched what was acceptable for verses and choruses in length. How? I mean... How ridiculous...   In closing, I want to set the record straight. My heart and soul cannot be bought or sold by anyone in the industry. Of course, I am accepting of differences and there is certainly room for mediocrity and different views, actions, and opinions.. However, there is only one or two potential industry deals that I am open to or interested in and no one has offered me either of those yet. Perhaps, because there is lack of creative imagination on their part or brave boldness to be different and take chances. Well, the 1st option involves a band concept with a bass player and drummer I have in mind. It would be something new and innovative and I will not surrender my solo and individual endeavors to do it either. The sole purpose of doing this kind of deal wthin the industry would be to create a bridge of understanding, respect, and mutally beneficial communication towards a brighter more open future between the indie realm and corporate world for the edification of both. The 2nd option involves a reality show starring me and my method style of genuiness. I would completely tell the truth about the industry and hopefully they are not afraid to air it. We could call it "The making of a Rock Star" featuring Simon Thunder, "The savior of Rock -n- Roll"! Lol... all of this is my joke on the industry. They have been exploiting the artist for decades. If not, I am quite content to continue as always and you can receive O% of nothing with no stake in the future. Either way, the future will come and your demise is certain. The industry will continue to change forever. Also, I will not demean or degrade the true spirit of my previous release by sponsor a product for advertisement unless it for a really good and charitable cause. I am available to write a new composition or jingle for that specific purpose, person, or product. Miley/HannahMontana and any other Disney characters are a complete joke and I believe send the wrong message to the next generation. Chris Cornell-dude what the hell!! Timbaland-you suck! Both of you come clean. That being said, do what you do. Have fun. Live and let live. I disagree but respect your right to exercise your free will and make choices. I would never presume to judge but just express my opinion. We are all useful and pieces of a more universal and broader puzzle. My views as a scientific and philosopher are subject to change as I become more enlightened and evolve towards change. So, hang it up or don't! Please feel free to say something to me that challenges and and encourages me to think differently if even just for a moment. Anyway, the rest know who they are... You have no voice if you sell out because you disqualify yourself when you buy into someone else's mantra. Whenever an artist sees a 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 or 3.5 as a score in a certain category (or categories) it means that's an area I feel they need to improve and develop. When someone sees 4, 4.5 or 5 as their score in a category, that tells them, to me, they are in the professional league and have strong potential. It's a validation from a pro, letting you know you are doing a fine job. Every artist should work hard to earn 4.5 to 5 in every category. It's a very competitive business and people averaging in the 3's (or less) will probably not get too far without a great deal of improvement and development. I don't give out 4's and 5's easily, so any of those you see, you have earned. Well done! One thing to keep in mind, at least for your songs designated as "Singles" (the songs geared towards winning over radio stations and record company executives) - try to keep Intros to under 10 seconds and try to reach the Chorus between the 40 and 43 second mark. I noticed in your material, this was not acheived. So I wanted to point this out to help. If it's 44 seconds or longer and the Chorus did not kick in yet, you should edit the song's arrangement accordingly. In rap music, the chorus can come in at the 55 to 58 second mark or so, since the verses are traditionally longer, compared to pop and rock music.
