Biography
The Brian David Band is releasing a new single called “Go Slow” in May of 2011 which will later be followed up by an EP in the Fall. This marks the Brian David Band's 4th release in 6 years since the debut EP "Up Down Sideways" in 2006. "Go Slow" is not just a song, but a way to look at life differently thru a new set of eyes so you don't wind up missing anything. It's about realizing that in every moment, good is good enough and there is no sense wasting your time on things that in the end really don't matter. It's about counting your blessings one by one and being open to all the good that can happen in your life. The EP will be featuring some additional songs like a rock stomping song called "Contagious" and a song inspired by facebook posts called "Life's Crazy Moments.
During a time when music seems to have less of an identity and more of a catch, fans everywhere are searching for a band that knows who they are. With identity comes a confidence that the music you create can have a positive effect on those who listen. The Brian David Band has an identity that makes their music unique in many circles in the Twin Cities. Over time, Brian David, along with Sean (The SW Stomp) Woodward and now a full band including Eric Hanson on Electric Guitar, Tim Krueger on Bass, and Ben Hail on keys have solidified the Stomp Pop/Rock Vibe into a sound original to the Minnesota music community with a deep lyrical perspective, passionate delivery and driven purposeful songs. Influences include artists like The Dave Matthew’s Band, Matchbox Twenty, Tonic, David Gray, Johnny Cash and 311. In their third album titled “There From Here,” BDB looks to connect with their fans on a personal level leaving them with a message of clarity and assaults the ears with an eclectic, melodic, funk groove that keeps us wanting more.
The new album takes listeners on a journey, winding through matters of the heart and mind, exploring the road that brings us "There From Here." The album’s song, "Momentum,” deals with the pace the world has set for us and us wanting or needing that extra push to get to where we want or need to be in life. The song "The Road Ahead,” touches on leaving your problems in the past and looking before you for the answers with lyrics like “In the fragments of time, I’ve forgotten what I’ve been trying to find, and all the paths I have chosen, have managed to keep me frozen in my doubts, and I can barely respond, to what I think lies beyond, just prepare for the best, in a future only I can invest.” Over the years, Brian has strived to bring his listeners to share in his belief that you can accomplish anything if you put your passion and energy into what you love. The most passionate song on the album is one entitled, "Energy," with lyrics like "Sinking my teeth in it, all my beliefs in it, the air that I breath, along with all my energy," it becomes quickly apparent how much passion and energy Brian has put into his love of songwriting.
The Brian David Band will be releasing their new album, There From Here, on Feb. 6th, 2010 featuring the songs “There From Here”, “Are You Listening”, “Momentum”, “Energy” and “The Road Ahead”, as well as 7 other diverse tracks. The album is also be available on iTunes, Amazon and other internet sites on Feb. 6, 2010.
