Witch Mountain Bridge

Genre: Pop
Secondary Genre: Rock Denver, Colorado USA Contact

We've been told we sound like Jewel meets Heart and Fleetwood Mac. You'll notice our vocals right away--we sing a lot of 4-part harmony, but the musicianship is top notch too!

Biography

Brother and sister, Rick and Anastasia Erbe grew up in a musical home and knew early on that music would be an important part of their existence. In 1991, they went onstage together during a college talent show at UNC in Greeley, where Rick attended. They sang their own version of The Rembrandts' Follow You Down. From then on, the two began writing and singing regularly, influenced by the styles of the Everly Brothers, Cat Stevens, Edwin McCain, Sister Hazel and Toad the Wet Sprocket. "We were also heavily influenced by some of the contemporary southern bands like Matchbox 20, 7 Mary 3, Big White Undies, Von Ray, The Indigo Girls and Pat McGee. I think you can hear some of that in our original music."
In summer 1995, they hooked up with 19-year-old violinist Jenni Burns. The band began as an acoustic quartet with Kim McEntire performing with Anastasia, Jenni and Rick. In 2004, they met Noel Hernandez, Steve Morrow and Terry Nickell to form Witch Mountain Bridge.
Noel Hernandez teaches guitar in Denver and plays with bands Local 6 and Addison Way. "We met him in the coffee shop open mic scene in Denver and after we received some radio airplay as an acoustic act, we decided it was time to add electric guitar, bass and drums. Noel was the first one we called."
Austin joined us in 2007 with two weeks to go before we performed at the People's Fair. All we had were a few practices and it was off to the stage! Austin didn't let us down though.
Terry has played with Noel for a few years now in the band Local 6. When he heard we needed a drummer he decided to sit in and has proven himself an excellent time keeper.
The band is named after the Disney movie, Escape From Witch Mountain, about a brother and sister and their challenges growing up.
Laden with rich vocal harmonies and catchy melodic hooks, WMB is guaranteed to entertain and have you leaving their show with a tune or two stuck in your head...
