The striking, streetwise Tzavellas hits the mark on this one, we can't wait to see where she goes next. David Malachowski, SOUND ADVICE - Daily Freeman
V'nessa Tzavellas offers something new and innovative to today's pop music. This Queens native's sound is as unique as her background. Her Greek father & Nuyorican mother created a very unlikely & diverse musical environment, an apparant contribution to her vibrant form of urban rock with a world influence. Her clever song-writing and soulful voice creates a collection of six eclectic, catchy tunes on her EP, "Beautiful Things" serving up a taste of what's to come on Tzavellas' full-length CD which she is currently recording. Doing something that is both ambitious and intriguing, she is determined to create a spirited, stimulating, performance-oriented project. Intent on getting her original and genre-bending music heard by the masses, it now seems likely that listeners will spend more time enjoying it than trying to label it.
EP "Beautiful Things" includes tracks "Afterglow", "Controlled", "Flashes", "Beautiful Things", "Nothing" & "Days Like These" that can be heard on:

ALBUM: Beautiful Things
Beacon-based Queens native V'nessa Tzavellas offers a refreshingly different EP produced with polish by Chris Cubeta.
It's starting point is urban pop, funk and rock, but where it delightfully departs it into latin and Eastern European modalities and that's where the real magic begins. Tzavellas' passionate pipes turn up the heat, as she can wrap herself around any melody. There's an inherent hip-hop sensibility to her phrasing that is both clever and contemporary.
Her lush, thick voice, and slow vibrato rock "Afterglow" (Colo Bondz rhymes in the middle). Tzavellas' voice really cuts loose in "Beautiful Things," as it crosses the line between really good and potential hit. The surfire "Flashes" has an underlying heat. , "Controlled" deeply grooves while she asserts her independence. The striking, streetwise Tzavellas hits the mark on this one, we can't wait to see where she goes next.

Guitar and drum work on the first track has an expressive vibe. On this song, Tzavellas sings about her innermost emotions. “I shine like the light of the moon on the ocean…Ever-changing motion. Oh, the tide is takin’ all control, washin’ over me like waves crashin’ up its shore.” The meditative picture that Tzavellas paints here for listeners promotes calmness and serenity.
The second song has salient acoustic guitar. Then drum work that seems to have assistance from a synthesizer joins the melody, giving the song a completely different sound. Tzavellas speaks of not concealing oneself because of fear. “At time it seems easier to blind myself…Evils of the world but if you’re livin’ your life behind those lies, you also hide from the light and all that is right. Beautiful things, there out there. You need only see them. Beautiful things, around us. Weren’t only made for dreamin’. Beautiful things, there out there. You only need to believe them. Beautiful things, around us. Weren’t only made for dreamin’.” This song tells listeners that if they really examine what is in front of them, they will find magnificent things that might not have caught their eye previously.
“Beautiful Things,” from V’nessa Tzavellas, is a record that showcases an artist who is not at all reluctant to lay out, in song, her deepest thoughts for everyone to see. Tzavellas’s environment is echoed in each track as her emotive timbre will send listeners a vision of life and all of its perks.
