Jerad Finck

Spokane, Washington-based pop-rocker Jerad Finck carries a bright, powerful musical flavor to fans, enlightening them with the sounds of rock-n-roll’s future. Finck’s sound is accessible and endearing but also forward-thinking, moving the music up a notch and setting a new bar.

Achieving an extremely rare feat of breaking The Top 40 and charting in multiple formats as an Independent Artist with his debut record, Jerad embraced the new DIY direction of the music industry using radio, press, television, online marketing and touring to connect. Spreading like wildfire across the country and globe, fans connected personally to Jerad's songs and the lyrics.

Jerad also caught the attention of major labels, and he is now signed on with Rock Ridge and ADA/Warner Music Group. Recently, Jerad has also signed a Co-Publishing deal with BMG/Chrysalis in the FieldHouse Wing. Jerad is also an official Gibson Guitarist.

Extremely hard-working, Jerad and his band have completed seven national tours covering over 200,000 road miles and 46 States. Jerad has opened for and/or done touring shows with, Daughtry, OAR, Christina Perri, Edwin McCain, Sister Hazel, Vertical Horizon, Parachute, One EskimO, Ingrid Michaelson, Matt Hires, Red Wanting Blue, Ron Pope, Cracker, Ingram Hill, Tony Lucca. Special performances include Live In The Vineyard, Hotel Carolina, SXSW, Indie Week Toronto, The Rock Boat XII, and Balcony TV. Jerad has been featured in over fifty newspapers and magazines; including CMJ, Skope, American Songwriter, Amplifier, and Acoustic Magazine.

Jerad and his band have performed on nearly a dozen Morning TV shows on NBC, CBS, ABC & FOX.

His songs have been featured in movies and television shows on HBO, ESPN, Discovery, CBS & NBC, among others.

Jerad's first single "Goodbye" has achieved most added record in the country on the Commercial ACQB charts, and charted in the Top 10.

Jerad's sophmore single "Runaway" achieved breakout success charting in Mediabase becoming a top 40 single. It peaked at #33 in AC, #42 HOT AC and #25 in HOT AC Indicator.

Jerad's newest release "Beautiful -Featuring Johnny A." has already passed 1 million views on Youtube.

He has just finished his newest EP, set for release in Sept 2012. For this newest record, Jerad collaborated with multi-platinum Producer Anthony Resta (Duran Duran, Collective Soul, Green River Ordinance). Jerad was also joined by some heavy hitters doing a duet with Internationally renowned guitarist Johnny A, Roger O'Donnell from The Cure bringing his trademark Moog, along with a slew of other major players in the industry. Raising the bar off of his highly successful and critically acclaimed debut album, this newest release is sure to raise the bar and display the growing evolution of Jerad.

  Spokane, WA-based pop-rocker Jerad Finck has signed a management and label deal with Newark, NJ-base...Spokane, WA-based pop-rocker Jerad Finck has signed a management and label deal with Newark, NJ-based Rock Ridge Music. Management efforts begin immediately, with Finck's EP, Stuck In Your Riddle, slated for digital release on September 25, 2012, and CD release on October 23, 2012. The 7-song EP will come out via the Rock Ridge Music label arm (with distribution through ADA). Finck joins other management clients such as Tony Lucca, Ingram Hill, Todd Carey, and Matt Duke on the Rock Ridge Music roster.
  
  Says Finck of the new partnership: "I am excited about my continuing and growing relationship with Rock Ridge. They have been a constant force over the past year and have really pushed me to grow as an artist. I am thankful for everything they have done. I can't believe how far we've come over the past year, and now that they are directly involved as management as well, I can hardly wait to see what the next year will hold for us! Ninjas rule."
  
  Says Rock Ridge Music CEO Tom Derr about signing Finck: "Jerad's talent and drive is a nice fit into the Rock Ridge family of artists."
  
  Finck's Stuck In Your Riddle has been signed to a co-publishing deal with BMG/Chrysalis, who will represent Finck's music for film and TV placements. West Coast director of A&R for Fieldhouse/BMG Jennifer Lyneis says, "I was really blown away by Finck's music and his proven track record at radio and his many licensing deals in Film and Television. I felt the partnership between him and BMG would be mutually beneficial." John Loeffler, President of Fieldhouse agrees and said, "We were completely impressed with his songwriting and were sold after seeing him perform in New York City, we look forward to a long lasting relationship with him."

  Most recently, Finck's song "Runaway" was remixed by internationally known DJ/remixer/producer DJ Lynwood (Beyonce, Linkin Park, Depeche Mode) and the collaboration landed the song at #3 on the Billboard Pop Dance Chart on its debut. Finck is touring in August with Sarah Miles and Ken Yates, leading up to his appearance at the fourth-annual Hotel Carolina in Isle of Palms, SC, in September.   Enter DJ Lynnwood. Lynnwood, who has remixed the music industry's biggest stars like Britney, Madonna and Beyonce, heard the dance hit potential in Finck's "Runaway" and gave it a whole new life. Taking the single and remixing it along with some of his good remixer friends, DJ Lynnwood has delivered Finck his first Billboard dance hit. With additional promotion help from Bobby Shaw and Jennifer Lyneis, "Runaway" has debuted on the Billboard Club Play Breakout chart at #3 this week.

  "This song [Runaway] has done very well for me independently. I am not with a major label, but we felt we could go to radio anyways, and with our limited budget we charted in multiple formats, states Finck. And, 1 year later, this song is still going and is now impacting Dance and Top 40."

  Jerad Finck recently returned from a North American tour, hitting 40 cities in less than two months ...Jerad Finck recently returned from a North American tour, hitting 40 cities in less than two months before returning home to Spokane, WA. It was an exhaustive trip for the singer-songwriter and his band, but then again, Finck doesn’t seem capable of doing anything less than full-tilt.
  
  His self-titled album was mastered at none other than the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, was produced by Grammy-winner John Seymour (U2, Dave Matthews Band, Santana), and features string arrangements from fellow Grammy-holder David Mansfield.
  
  While Mansfield’s velvety touch can be heard on the wistful ballad “Baby Blue,” the record’s true fingerprint emerges in the up-tempo “Goodbye.” On the taut, two-minute track, a frenetic guitar intro and syncopated vocal melody give way to an aggressively catchy chorus. Finck’s voice soars in and out of a falsetto, all the while remaining clean and eminently accessible.
  
  Like many of Finck’s tunes, “Goodbye” can stand alongside the work of Maroon 5, Rob Thomas and Keane as proof that pop music is alive, well, and not exclusively the domain of the middle school kids. Finck also displays a reverence for his guitar pop forefathers. Another standout track, “Carry the Weight,” harkens back to Rubber Soul Beatles, with its jangly acoustic guitar backbone and soft snare drum attack.
  
  Finck’s songs are catchy pop morsels that leave the listener wanting more. Rarely do you see a young artist this developed and polished. Finck is clearly poised to bring timeless songs back into the spotlight of American pop music.

  Jerad Finck’s self-titled debut CD is a 12-song showcase for a newcomer with the discerning instincts of a pop-rock veteran. Whether delivering frantic, insistent rockers like “Another” or achingly delicate ballads “Movin’ On,” the CD is a model of pop balance and rock fire. While several tracks benefit from nuanced and deftly-charted string arrangements, the driving rhythm of “You” and the blistering guitar solo of “Whatever You Want” ensure that the rock in pop-rock gets its due. And with hooks as big as the great outdoors, combined with a solid, in-the-pocket rhythm section, “Jerad Finck” shows a power-pop sensibility that would make The Knack proud. Check out Finck’s bold and utterly contemporary arrangement of “Paperback Writer” and you get a sense not only of Jared’s craftsmanship, but also of the singer-songwriter’s artistic confidence. Mainstream in its accessibility and sincerity, “Jerad Finck” is a pop-rock CD that is also original, honest, and a fine debut from a talented young performer.

  Being an independent musician has got to be one of the most honorable things to be. To create music ...Being an independent musician has got to be one of the most honorable things to be. To create music from your heart and then to put it out there for the world to critique earns massive respect.
  This next musician is a musician by the name of Jerad Finck. Jerad comes to us from Spokane, WA where the music scene is thriving right now. Jerad is about to release his self titled solo album and embark on a national tour.
  Jerad began playing music at the age of 7. “I found a trumpet in my parent’s attic and began playing jazz.” Since then Jerad’s family has been incredibly supportive in every aspect of his musical endeavours.
  Jerad is truly a working musician. When he is not playing live he is a social worker and in school for his masters. “I have been a shrink for disabled people for over 10 years.” Jerad is also an A&R for indie label, Hit Street Records. Jerad told me, “I want to do music full time for the rest of my life. I would love to get a Grammy.” Jerad might just see that wish come true as super-producer John Seymour produced his new album.
  Jerad has a true appreciation for The Beatles. “I love listening to Beatles records, I even bought all their scores.” Jerad really got a close encounter with the boys as he mastered his album at Abbey Road in London with Steve Rooke. London is a good city for Jerad as well. “When I was in London, I met this amazing woman from Portugal. I wrote her a track and made her a video on my MAC. Now she is here visiting me in Spokane.” London is also the city where Jerad wrote his MySpace hit, “Whatever You Want.” Jerad’s music alone has garnered over 730K plays to date.
  Jerad is no stranger to the road. “I was in Chicago and the audience started singing along. That was an amazing feeling.” Before Jerad goes on stage he puts on some Beatles albums to loosen up.
  When Jerad is not doing music (which is not often) he is self-proclaimed hermit & wino. Jerad told me, “I like to read alot. I watch movies, and I am big vinyl guy. I also play video games.”
  After spending an hour on the phone with Jerad I am a believer. Here is a man that is doing what he loves while also doing what he needs to pay the bills. When I asked him what keeps him creative & motivated he said, “I strive to write a better song. I write a great song and that makes me want to do another that is better.” When asked what female artist Jerad would duet with he answered immediately, Tracy Chapman.
  Jerad’s life is about to get very hectic. He just finished a high-budget video in Washington, DC with Joseph Pattisall. He is looking at movie licensing offers and just ready to introduce himself and his voice to the masses. I will tell you one thing, Stoli is listening!

  Doe-eyed, radio-ready pop meister Jared Finck recently polished off his 40-market national tour, and is back home writing and preparing to head back into the studio. The hefty trek consisted of 40 gigs over what Finck described as "a grueling two-month period with shows in over 30 states, with eight to ten hour drives in between many of the cities." Ouch. After driving 18,000 miles from start to finish while hunkering down at local Denny's and cheap motels along the way, Finck still remembers the tour fondly saying, "people's expressions made every night worth the struggle, as by the end we usually had people dancing and singing along to songs they'd never heard before."
  
  On his next album, Finck will once again be working alongside Grammy Award-winning producer John Seymour, who helmed Finck's self-titled debut and has worked with the Dave Matthews Band. According to the singer, the new songs draw inspiration from everything including, "breaking down on the road, yet another Denny's, the friendships, relationships, random encounters, searching for laundry facilities, the freedom of just doing what I loved."
  
  While he hasn't started recording the untitled album yet, Finck has high hopes. "The life experiences on the road lead to tons of great song ideas and themes... I hope to draw on those experiences... [and] develop more and more with each successive CD."
