Biography

our music: well-told stories of people long passed; old friends, former lovers; sounds reminiscent of blues halls and jazz kitchens. always with a rock and roll heart and a futura aesthetic, these elements converge to create an unexpected complexity and intensity coming from two.

melissa: i grew up in a musical family with a professional blues-singer mother who encouraged my singing gift from a tender age. while other kids were playing 'doctor', i would give day-long summertime concerts to the fields surrounding my grandmother's home and endless concerts and interviews with Rolling Stone up in my bedroom.
with over ten years of theatre training and years fronting various rock bands, i am most at home on stage. i offer an incredible range of styles and pitch creating a unique sound.
you can hear echos of jeff buckley, sarah mclachlan, and nina simone.

jane is a well-respected electric/acoustic multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose guitar style has been influenced by equal parts jimmy page, king crimson's adrien belew and joni mitchell. she has toured extensively and not only has a captivating live presence, but is also extremely well-versed in studio production.

lunamarys are both former members of the critically acclaimed band 'hoochie mama get-down.' born musicians who find creative inspiration every single day. hard and soft, refined and experimental, we find no fault in representing all in equal measure. within the space of a song we'll take you with us - joy, anger, longing, tenderness, wit...we are like nothing you have ever heard.
