Music, Film, & Fasion in Australia
"Having fondly remembered the band's 2009 debut album ‘Don’t Act like You Know Me’, I have been eagerly awaiting the follow up by Ten Year Vamp. Now comes the “Lust” five-track EP, a disc that continues the impressive high-energy music that this band is becoming well known for. Driven by the charismatic lead singer Debbie Gabrione, the songs draw out their issues surrounding love and lust. It is easy to be captivated by Debbie and she sings with great heart and purpose. With a talented band alongside her, their career should continue to boom. It's no surprise that they've already shared the stage with Bon Jovi and Aerosmith. They demonstrate good versatility also, with the knack of a cool ballad and some punk-pop sounds. A highlight track is “Got 2 Me”, a song that ultimately was featured in a new Playstation game “A Band”. The upbeat guitar and drum parts feature well throughout the five tracks and Debbie's charm and star power gives them an all-round quality package. I'm very pleased to see the great progression that Ten Year Vamp continues to make and, at this rate, big things will come soon for them."
Review in Target Audience Magazine
11/21/2011
"Ten Year Vamp's front-woman, Debbie Gabrione, stands out as a combination of strong women band leaders coached by the inspirational women to lead past generations. A new album created every year except 2009 since 2005 shows the entire band as one forged by commitment and held together with a pop-rock sound that rivals the would-be fad stars of the present.... Ten Year Vamp captures that essence of youth. It reminds me of what Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Gwen Stefani, and Hannah Montana did for their respective generations - these quick, catchy songs will rally the sense of hope in otherwise tormented teens."
Lust Review at Wildy's World!
11/4/2011
“For an Indie band working outside of the major label framework, Ten Year Vamp has been extremely successful at getting their music placed/licensed, and has even managed to chart in Billboard magazine. The band itself is as tight as a wire, and lead vocalist Debbie Gabrione is the type of front woman who can captivate an audience from the first note…. Lust opens with "Got 2 Me", an amped up love song about the power of love to turn her head. The high energy rocker is full of honest vulnerability meshed with toughness that's appealing in a 1980's Pat Benatar style. "Thinking Of Me" keeps the temp and energy going with a catchy rocker that seems ripe for use in an edgy romantic comedy. Gabrione's vocals are superlative as always, and you simply won't be able to sit or stand still.”
Ten Year Vamp opens for Bon Jovi at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center: "Ten Year Vamp Rocks SPAC As Bon Jovi Opener"
-Headline from the Saratoga Today Newspaper, 7/15/2010
Ten Year Vamp Opens For Aerosmith at the 2010 New York State Fair: "Ten Year Vamp, a six-piece band that boasts of all New York state musicians, rocked the crowd with vigor and style. Led by charismatic lead singer Debbie Gabrione, Ten Year Vamp delivered a solid, soaring string of songs from the album “Don’t Act Like You Don’t Know Me.” Gabrione stalked the stage, at times hopping up and down and at other times pacing left and then right. All the while, she let the crowd know exactly how she felt with the smooth and rich vocals to “Pleasures (That I Call Mine),” “Rockstar,” “Faked It” and “One Night Ticket.” She’s got star power aplenty."
-Syracuse Post Record, 8/27/2010
"Debbie's great vocals and intense energy on stage is something to behold with her hair flying yet somehow returning to it's original place adds a 'hot' factor that isn't seen much with live acts... this band was very energetic and action heavy compared to most bands that just stand there and do not engage the crowd.... Hearing their next original 'Rockstar' bothered me, only because this band was somehow unsigned, yet pulled crowds into frenzy and generated rocking tunes throughout spot-on covers of traditional and newer rockers.... The crowd was jumping, screaming, loving the band to the extent that it was difficult to navigate their way off stage for another setbreak.... The band's camaraderie I observed during setbreak was uncanny; they could easily be mistaken for brothers and sisters joking around and having a good laugh, keeping a positive, but not naive outlook on things.... The band played strong till 3:30am, long after it was time for me to call it a night. Ten Year Vamp puts on one helluva show for any music fan."

At The Great Unknown Presents, over 1200 listeners voted for their favorite songs of 2009 and Ten Year Vamp song, Faked It, was among the top 20! "I'd love to have you on my show again. Before I had you on my show, I only had 3,000 iTunes subscribers. Since having you on my show, I have gained over 29,000 new subscribers. You probably had a lot to do with it, because your music is so "kick-ass". I thank you and owe you some gratitude to you for my success."
-Michael Jaramillo, December 31, 2009
"Filled with catchy riffs and heavy grooves, the album easily proves that it can stand next to any top-40 album on the charts today... With a strong band dynamic, and enigmatic front woman and a business sense usually reserved for Wall Street boardrooms, Ten Year Vamp is taking the musical, and business, world by storm. With a string of catchy tunes, a good production team and a strong vision for their future, it’s only a matter of time before the band, which has opened for Lifehouse, Simple Plan and the Spin Doctors, jumps to the top of the marquee of concert halls across the country."

"I've been digging on live music since I was in college, and I have rarely seen a local band just own a crowd the way Ten Year Vamp owned the crowd at Bayou Cafe on Saturday night. They had a couple hundred people just eating out of their hands all night long. Seriously - I dug the music, but it was their showmanship and how much the crowd obviously was having a great time that really made the experience for me.... I find myself really awestruck whenever I see a performer who has mastered the art of working a crowd -- and Debbie can transfer her own energy to 200 people and then amp them all up to 11. So much of rock is about more than the music -- it's all in the presentation... and I'm telling you, these guys have "it". This was as impressive an "undiscovered"/local band as I've seen in a very long time."
-The Chronic Curmudgeon
"Big Message + High Intensity = Big Hit! Is the formula that best describes TYV’s Don’t Act Like You Know Me! While Don’t Act Like You Know Me celebrates the independence, and with that the problems, of modern woman, front woman Debbie’s sex appeal passion and soul combined with TYV’s hard rockin’, in your face music appeals to the widest pop/rock audience... I rate them 10 out of 10 and a thumbs up!"
-Gulf Coast Music Review
"Don't Act Like You Know Me, shapes up to be one of the most dynamic rock albums of the year... Debbie Gabrione is the sort of front woman they make movies about, and the rest of the band is incredibly tight. With a sound already refined and highly marketable, Ten Year Vamp just needs that one big break to fall in place. It will happen sooner or later; music this good just doesn't stay hidden. Don't Act Like You Know Me is brilliant; a Wildy's World Certified Desert Island Disc. Don't miss it. Rating: 5 Stars (Out of 5)
-Wildy's World
"Tight, white-hot and endlessly attacking the downbeat from the gun... Drinks were spilled. Souls were lost.... the band caught more air than Blink 182 backing David Lee Roth on a McDonaldland trampoline.... And, of course, you have leading lady Debbie Gabrione. Sure, Gabrione is a looker, a prime selling point for the band, she plats the manes of her horses in the night with toasts and promises and a sort of reassuring elemental satisfaction... their radiance is infectious."
- Bill Ketzer, Metroland
“I was blown away by this band right away… The first time that I heard the lead singer Debbie Gabrione’s voice, I was hooked. They got great songs, excellent lyrics, great melodies, and like I said, Debbie’s voice just ties it all together. The album Don’t Act Like You Know Me, is solid all the way through… I ended up buying the album and wanted to play almost every song on the show today... On top of it all, Debbie is just f&%$in hot... This is a top of the UC Radio List recommendation.”
-UC Radio
"You can't call them indie, although technically they are... If power pop can 'Rock' these guys rock our world! We featured Never Know on this week's show and cannot say enough good things about 10YV's amazingly tight sound! Debbie & the band deserve every award, every achievement and every success they've reached. We have a hunch the best is yet to come!" Don't Act Like You Know Me rated 5 out of 5!
-Ken Main, You Can't Make It Up
"The band's Don't Act Like You Know Me works well as a spotlight for the band's music. Frankly I can't understand why Ten Year Vamp isn't a household name already in the music scene... this band should be headlining the shows.... For any record labels executives reading this do yourself a favor and head up to Albany, New York and sign this band, you won't be sorry."
-The CD Reviewer
"You couldn’t have picked a better voice to lead a Rock Band!! This album shows the world this band is for real. Intense lyrics led by a mastermind on guitar. “Rockstar” coming to a radio station near you. Watch out this is the future of ROCK N ROLL!!"
-Album Review in The Venue (New England's Premiere Arts & Entertainment Newspaper)
"Ten Year Vamp don’t win crowds over; they own them. The next time I catch them is at Sandy’s Clam Bar in Glens Falls, where the atmosphere is like a European rock festival. Then, down by Poughkeepsie’s waterfront at Mahoney’s, the place is so over-capacity that bouncers help with load-out. Ten Year Vamp bumper stickers are smeared across the asses and pint glasses of the masses, and it seems right."
-Bill Ketzer, Metroland Magazine
