Biography
Since 2003, View has existed for one purpose – to share the love of good music with people of all ages and from all walks of life. Its members come from a variety of different backgrounds and musical influences, but all share that common thread – the love of good music. It's that thread that binds together their different perspectives into a unique but cohesive whole – with songs ranging in genre from acoustic folk with haunting vocals to upbeat electric punk to rock and roll with spine-tingling harmonies.
View is comprised of BJ Walraven (guitars and lead vocals), Justin Mastic (bass and vocals), Erik Weber (drums and vocals), and Aric Kirkland (guitar and vocals).
View has played several Michigan festivals including Arts, Beats, and Eats, the Ann Arbor Art Fair, the Ypsilanti Crossroads Music Festival, Chelsea Sounds and Sights, the Plymouth Green Street Fair, and Canton Backyard Beats.
To date, View has released two full length CDs through their own label, Raven Studios. The first is self-titled, View, and was released in 2005. The most recent, Moving On, was released in late 2009.
View has enjoyed airplay on Ann Arbor’s 107one (WQKL 107.1 FM Ann Arbor), 89X (CIMX 88.7 FM Detroit / Windsor). They also performed live on WHFR 89.3 FM Dearborn / Detroit. Most recently, they were a musical guest on the Mitch Albom radio show on WJR AM 760.
