Biography
This is not your average piano girl. Tiff Jimber holds nothing back when she plays, smashing out rhythms and dancing on her toes. Her studies in jazz and classical piano are apparent in all her song. Influences include Sara Bareilles, Ben Folds, Billy Joel, John Mayer, Nina Simone and Adele.
Tiff grew up in sunny San Diego and was forced to take piano lessons. Luckily, this hobby quickly grew into a passion. At age 17 Tiff released her first self-produced album of original songs and was accepted to the prestigious Berklee College of Music where she graduated with a dual degree in Songwriting and Music Production/Engineering.
Tiff released her second full-length album, Burning At Both Ends and was financed through a fundraising campaign solely organized by Tiff and her loyal fans, with proceeds totaling over $10,000. Tiff collaborated with Producer Matt Bobb, who produced and co-wrote numerous tracks on the album.
Tiff is currently on tour in the US and Europe promoting her album Burning At Both Ends.

Inspired by the likes of John Mayer (whom she bashfully admits to wanting to make out with), this young, exceptional singer-songwriter seems to have what it takes to succeed.
“Ol’ Joanna” is a cool, groovy tune that will have audiences tapping their toes to the beat. The rhythm guitar is a nice complement to this song as it blends marvelously with the piano and Jimber’s voice.
“Skin Me” is a beautiful, soulful yet sad and almost melancholy) song that brings the mood down a few notches- in a good way.
This performer has stage presence and a deliciously exquisite voice. The music was a collection of contemporary, soulful piano with a hint of Dina Krall in the vocals. One word summed it up: fabulous.”

I really had no idea what to expect when I first read that Tiff Jimber’s new CD, Obstacles, centered around Tiff playing the piano and singing. I needn’t have been concerned. Tiff
Jimber is nothing short of a stellar artist, making her piano sound like simply an extension of her arms and her lyrics an extension of her soul. Tiff reminded me of Tori Amos without the angst, and yet her deep, meaningful, thought- provoking lyrics showcase the obstacles in life. This will not be the last you hear from Tiff Jimber, so pick up a copy of Obstacles today and fall in love with this talented young
singer- songwriter.

Tiff Jimber – Obstacles
She’s scrumptrulescent!
The CD jacket makes that proclamation, and the CD itself proves it. With Obstacles, Tiff Jimber offers an album’s worth of piano filled pop gems.
Starting off with the short, yet beautiful, “Hello,” Obstacles draws the listener in right away . The catchy “You Were Always There” follows and gives us our first taste of Jimber’s vocals. To great effect, she alters between double-tracked, delayed and straight vocals throughout the song.
Highlights on the album are the upbeat “Doin’ Fine” and the somber “Ape 7.” Both show off the Jimber’s range as a performer. The jazzy “So What” features some of the most clever vocals on the album. The call-and-answer chorus plays off well and really helps convey the emotion that the protagonist must be feeling.
Perhaps the strongest track on the album is “Amanda.” The song starts off slow with a simple piano backing. There are many different sections to the track, each one with it’s own mood. The song quickly builds to an incredible piano solo, performed by Jimber herself, that really takes off. The song is a terrific effort by the entire band. One can imagine that when performed live, “Amanda” would be an audience favorite.
Obstacles closes with the wonderful “Gone.” The musical arrangement (piano and harmonica and strings) provides the perfect background for layers of beautiful vocals. It’s a story of love and innocence lost that could bring many to tears.
As debut records go, this Obstacles is near the head of it’s class. With a first album this strong, it’s safe to assume that there is much more great music to come from Tiff Jimber.

Tiff Jimber is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter who is making things happen for herself on her own...Tiff Jimber is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter who is making things happen for herself on her own terms. Obstacles is her second self-released album. Featuring ten intelligent piano pop compositions, Jimber's music might be best described as sounding something like a cross between Ben Folds ,Kate Bush , and Vanessa Carlton . This album features Tiff at an early stage of her career. While she is already quite focused and can sing up a storm, this young lady's music is just a tad rough around the edges...and that only serves to make it more appealing than it would be already. Jimber's songs feature reflective personal lyrics and, in many instances, wonderful thick layers of overdubbed vocals. The slightly playful feeling of the melodies is balanced by the honest and reflective lyrics. Jimber is off to a great start with her career. Cool cuts include "You Were Always There," "Doin' Fine," "So What," and "Gone." Exceptional stuff. (Rating: 4+++

“God, I love this! This song, “People Always Go, is brilliant. Within the first 5 seconds I was hooked. This is haunting. This is music I wish I'd have come up with. Great strong, standard chord changes. I like how it feels like it modulates outside the key and jumps right back in. Amazing chorus. I'll be whistling this for weeks. BRILLIANT!!! This needs to be in a movie.”
