Biography
Take a person. Strip away society, influence, greed, pride, facade, and all other self-sacrifices and you are left with passion. Sylas finds their passion highlighted in every riff, in each note, breakdown, melody, and lyric. In each laugh, each drop of sweat, sleepless night, the road, and every up and down in music and the music business. Each and every moment generated by their combined efforts to create their music is what moves this band and what keeps them striving to continue no matter what the obstacles.
Music today seems to come pre-packaged in its genre. Sylas has existed from their beginning to not try and fit a specific genre, but to rather realize the potential of a riff, or a sound that they create, and chase it to its end. With influences from Incubus to Norma Jean...Sylas has put out music that touches each end of the spectrum and keeps their fans guessing with each new song.
After solidifying their lineup...Sylas is more serious than ever and looking for any avenue to take their music and lives to somewhere greater with music. They are constantly writing, always ready to record and play concerts even though the members are scattered around in different colleges...distance is trivial compared to playing music.
So listen, enjoy, share, speak, and one day we may see you at a show!
