After being based in 3 cities, 3 EPs, 4 music videos, opening for national acts, their music licensed to several TV shows, close to 3 million plays and views on MySpace and closing in on 200,000 friends, featured in Radio & Records trade magazine, recently touring in Greenland to play for the US troops, etc....On Tracy Lane has finally arrived. OTL has released their debut full-length CD entitled "Are We Rich Yet?". Released Nov. 17, 2009, the single is "Snowballs in LA".
Originating in Los Angeles in 2003, OTL did a music video in 2004 with Lacey Chabert (Mean Girls, Party of Five) to get the wheels turning. After many shows on the West Coast, the band relocated to St. Louis, MO in 2005 and released The OTL EP. This release was the music and marketing that would lead to OTL being one of the biggest acts on MySpace. The band played all over the Midwest, opening for many national acts including Avril Lavigne and Butch Walker.
In 2007, OTL shifted its headquarters to the music capital of the world, Nashville, TN. Mike Puwal, producer for Insane Clown Posse, produced their new OTL EP entitled, “Pretend the Thing with Charlie Never Happened.” Lead singer and songwriter Darryn Yates talks about the move to Nashville. "This is the band I've always envisioned for OTL. The move to Nashville allowed us to find the members of the team that I believe will take this band far. We are all very excited." In December 2008, the band received the opportunity to play overseas for the troops in Greenland. More overseas trips are in the works.
In 2009, On Tracy Lane was signed by Octave Match Records. Unfortunately, OTL parted ways with OMR in April of 2010. On Tracy Lane is currently looking for the right booking agent, label, and manager to come along. They will remain very selective as they play shows all over the Midwest region. Showcases in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Austin, etc. are in the works. Their single, "Snowballs in LA", is the most requested song at WSIA 88.9 FM in Staten Island, NY. Stay Tuned as OTL keeps charging ahead. Are you On Tracy Lane yet?

On Tracy Lane is a pop rock band from St. Louis, MO. They are making a big fuss over at myspace and around the country about this band. The band has just released a new EP “Snowballs in LA.” They have also recently released the above video for their song “Disappear.” The band’s sound is reminiscent of some early 80s pop with a 2000s twist. They are definitely worth a listen, and I believe they are a band to keep an eye on in the future. More and more of today’s music is rediscovering that 80s sound, and it is a trend that is not soon to end. On Tracy Lane is one of the bands leading this revitalization of retro-pop.

She plays OTL lead vocalist Darryn Yates’ love interest. This is her first music video appearance, since the blockbuster movie was released on April 30th. “Back to Maybe” was shot and directed by The Film Emporium’s Joe Eckardt at Fairfield Elementary School in Van Nuys earlier this month.
Darryn Yates, OTL lead vocalist comments on his LA rock group having an actress from a #1 movie in their video, "I am honored to have Lacey in the OTL video; not only is she beautiful, but she is such an amazing talent. Her eyes and expressions tell the whole story in this video. We had so much fun and I am thrilled that her movie is doing so well! We are looking forward to the video being broadcast in major national markets and on different college & cable networks across the country.” The song “Back to Maybe” is the advanced single of a full length album to be released independently in August. Over the past couple of weeks, OTL has seen quick increase of over 50 college radio stations across the country playing their music with adds growing daily.
OTL band members include Darryn Yates (lead vocals, acoustic, and electric guitar), Carrie Sebree (backing vocals), Andy (bassist), Ammo (lead guitarist), Peter Lobo (drummer), and Joe Lorigo (rhythm guitarist). OTL is scheduling a college tour for the summer.
Chabert, 21, grew up playing Claudia the youngest daughter of the Salinger Klan, in the 1990’s TV Drama Party of Five.

The group’s sound is somewhere between Smash Mouth and Train and should be a big hit with the college crowd. The center of attention distinction clearly lies with Yates, whose soaring vocals and thought-provoking, angst-laden lyrics keep the intellect clicking, while OTL’s music takes hold of the rest of the body. OTL has impressive music and lyrics.

Yates, in the OTL EP, weaves intricate textures for exploration by the more attuned listener. Already a college radio favorite, OTL is fast becoming a recognizable sound on the music scene. With their energetic guitars and intriguing bass lines, On Tracy Lane is a spark plug of an act. The toe-tapping melodies also make these songs stick in your head all day." -Mark Kramer, Performer Magazine.

Growing Up On Tracy Lane by Sarah Chung Los Angeles, California If you're tuned into college...Growing Up On Tracy Lane
by Sarah Chung
Los Angeles, California
If you're tuned into college radio buzz, you may have already heard of On Tracy Lane; if not, keep your ears peeled and you'll be hearing about them soon enough. Formed just shy of a year ago, On Tracy Lane has honed their sound by going back to the basics; their songs aren't cluttered with any of the frivolous excesses, unnecessary sampling or gimmicky tampering that is so rampant in all genres of music these days. Rather, On Tracy Lane mixes equally catchy hook-driven riffs with personal lyrics and touches of a retro-rock feel reminiscent of early Tom Petty or Bowie; the result is clear, undiluted rock 'n roll.
Don't get me wrong; On Tracy Lane may be relatively new, but frontman and founder Darryn Yates is hardly a newcomer to music, having been in one band or another since his high school days in Illinois (the name "On Tracy Lane" is a reference to his childhood abode).
He compares his situation to that of a baseball player playing in the minor leagues: "If you go out every game with passion for playing the game, you're going to play well, and eventually you'll get a chance to go major. If you're too busy worrying about how you're doing, you're game's going to be hurt."
"The fans will come, the money will come, Letterman will come."
His goal is merely to make a living doing what he loves, and if he's got enough to tour in a van and eat, he's happy. It's a humble albeit not-unusual goal professed by many, but nonetheless one that most rockers are quick to relinquish at first opportunity.
Yates seems fairly grounded, though: "My family asks, 'Well, how much longer are you going to do this?' I tell them, 'I'm going to keep writing music and I'm gonna be happy as hell."
That's all you can ask for, really.

One welcome uniqueness is the vocals of Darryn Yates, which have an emotive timbre in a midground between Tom Petty and Kevn Kinney. 'House of Mimes' burbles with a punk flavor wonderfully seasoned by Yates' voice and some tasty harmonies. The lyrics are a cut above average as well, this is a band people will want to hear more from." -Mark E. Waterbury, Music Morsels

1.How did you get into music?
My grandfather, uncle, and cousin all played guitar or wrote songs when I was growing up. My mom loved Elvis! so I was exposed to music at a very young age. My brother and I became KISS fans when I was about 9 or 10 and he was 7 or 8. I grew up in the 80s in the midwest and we had our room wallpapered in KISS posters. haha I started taking guitar lessons (my mom made me) at age 13 and then started singing in my 1st band at age 16....10th grade in high school. It was called Red Destiny and we sucked. it was all cover songs, but we had a blast! haha
2.What were your major influnces?
I am influenced by lots of different artists. In the early days it was KISS, Elvis, Skid Row, Poison. Then as I got older I got into U2, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Who, etc. I am going to be the 1st rock singer to admit that Bon Jovi was a big influence! I also like Tupac and the Holmes Brothers, an awesome blues band.
3.What do you think of the idol format?
Call me old school or whatever, but I really like the old-fashioned way of working hard, paying your dues, and doing it for the love and passion....not a quick short cut to money and fame. =)
4. Has there been much response about your music over the web?
Yes On Tracy Lane has been fortunate to have a great internet presence and now that Lacey Chabert was in my debut music video, it is even more exciting. And having great support from cool companies like you doesn't hurt either. =) Our site is (http://www.ontracylane.com)
5. Where do you think you will be in 10 years?
I will be playing music for sure. Whether or not it will be in front of 100, 1000 or 1000000 people remains to be seen. I definitely consider myself a rock warrior and when people come see an OTL show, they will get 110%. They will hear and see the passion hopefully in my voice and songs.
6. How did you get Lacey Chabert to be part of your video clip?
Joe Eckardt, the producer and director of the video knew Lacey's agent. I owe Joe my 1st born child. His company is called the Film Emporium.
7. What do you think of file sharing and the mp3 format?
Once a band is national and established I can understand them wanting to get paid for their music. Indie bands and local bands trying to get national exposure....I think it is a great way for them to get their music out. At this point for OTL, it is all about the music and the name. I am not worried about cash right now.
8. Would you come down to australia to play?
YES! YES! YES! When? Where? You name it. I cannot wait to visit your beautiful country.
9. Who would most like to record a song with?
Jon Bon Jovi. Can you hook me up?
10. What would we find on your stereo at the moment?
Right now I have the blues of the Holmes Brothers, the rap of Tupac, and Bon Jovi's 2nd solo CD called Destination Anywhere.
Thanks for your time Darryn any last words Thanks so much for your support! Can't wait to play for and meet all of your listeners/fans! Follow your Dreams..... I hope you join me at On Tracy Lane
