Artist Information

Biography

A native of the scenic coastal towns around the Pacific Northwest, Chris Riffle started making waves on local radio stations while still in college, ultimately landing gigs opening for Death Cab for Cutie, Mary Lou Lord, and Dub Narcotic Sound System. More recently, moving to New York City, he has worked & toured with members of The Mars Volta, Ollabelle, and Antony and the Johnsons. His album, "Introducing..." was mixed by Grammy winner Steve Rosenthal at The Magic Shop and recorded at the Maid's Room.

The new EP, "Another Dream," getting great support from college radio, has been spinning at over 150 stations. While "Introducing..." was in heavy rotation at stations including WGTB which picked Chris for their Artist of the Week then went on to say, "Catch him before he's a big deal..." The CD release party at The Living Room in NY then later went on to be featured live on Sirius XM Satelite Radio.

On the touring front, Chris' travels have taken him to both coasts, as well as a recent trip to the Last Frontier - Alaska.

"remarkable in its honesty, fragility, and even wit"
-John Norris

"Evidently, I wasn't the only one enamored of Chris. Through my incessant phone calls to KUGS to demand they play one or the other of the two songs they had in their rotation, I found out that his songs were among the most requested. It seemed his music, sweet, smart and hooky as hell, managed to achieve the near-impossible: it was able to break through the hipper-than-thou musical apathy that afflicts most listeners of college radio."
-What's Up Magazine

Setlist

Lately we've been playing mostly 45 minute sets, but can play for up to 2 hours. Chris has played many shows by himself if the venue calls for a stripped down setup. He can also play with just guitar and his 6 string bass player. The full group with drums, piano and bass creates an amazing full sound at times and others a simple spacious air for his voice to cut through.
