Biography

You know that sarcastic little voice whispering in your ear at a meeting? That sassy boy playing your Cyrano when you find the smartest girl in the bar? The inside joke that lets them know you can hang with the boys but you are all woman? That's Revolush, Baby. Give 'em the key to your place – you know you want to. They are such a step above they'll take out the trash without being asked, but don't expect them to put the seat down.

That's Bill winking at you from behind those catchy guitar riffs – he knows what you're up to but he won't tell. You feel that vibe in your chest, knees, other places we can't mention? That's Nathan on the drums. Yes, Max is 7'11" making his bass look like a ukulele. And then there's Tommy and you know his gig (or do you?...)

But, if you haven't had the chance to feast your eyes on them (YUMMY!) you'll get awfully hungry when you realize they sound like an atomic fireball – the slap in the mouth that, well, you want more of. When that boy who was chasing your tail or the girl who would have given it up for you if given the chance made you a mix CD of Supergrass, Cheap Trick, The Beatles -- well, that love sick fool should have just given you Crystal Method Actors. Too bad for both of you.

  With a definite British edge and power-pop sensibility, Revolush has become a band to keep your eye ...With a definite British edge and power-pop sensibility, Revolush has become a band to keep your eye on. Guitarist Bill Reuter and vocalist Tommy Hahn create a one-two punch reminiscent of Cheap Trick at their best. Nathan Kilen (drums) and bassist Maxwell Emmet keep it simple yet interesting, providing the perfect backbeat to songs that are screaming for mainstream radio. A catchy melody is the key element, along with tight two-part harmonies which make for hooks that remain in the brain. Their release Crystal Method Actors is a great spin, and the band has produced standout tracks such as "Kings of College Radio" and "California Rain." Live, the band is as good as their record and a sure bet for a night of great original entertainment.

  I've got a soft spot in my heart for British influence music. I caught an act recently called Revolu...I've got a soft spot in my heart for British influence music. I caught an act recently called Revolush that encompassed all that is Brit. They don't leave it there, though. There's plenty of American '70s influence to be had, as well. Musically these guys have what it takes to get it done. Influences ranging from Cheap Trick to XTC emerge with a sound that mesmerizes track after track. Guitarist Bill Reuter breezes through catchy hooks as singer Tommy Hahn fronts with a Zander-like presence. It doesn't get any better vocally, with sharp two-part harmonies and Hahn displaying one of the best new voices on the scene. If I were in the record business, I'd sign these guys, dress them up in fancy clothes and make a few million parading their asses all over the MTV.
