Biography

Singer/songwriter, actress...and sometimes dancer (if you ask her really nicely) Ella Glasgow has finally come into her own. With her new album in the works and constant stage shows in the mix, she is a force to be reckoned with.

Ella Glasgow, a Nashville transplant, has degrees in both classical and commercial voice. All her life, the only thing she ever dreamed of being was a singer on a large stage. She has tried her hand in all forms of entertainment as performer and director; on stage and on screen; as the teacher and the student. With all these credits under her belt, her resume is quite long, but something was still lacking. In all that she tried, she never tried as hard to go it alone. And now, with much experience behind her, she is ready to spread her wings and fly.

Fame and fortune, though they are nice things to have, are not her goals. Success in the long-term is what is squarely set in her sites. And that is the same message she gives to everyone she meets. “If fame and fortune find me, I will gladly accept it as I have prepared myself for it. All I ask is that I be able to happily support myself doing what I love... and that is to sing.”

  Ella Sings Ella is a dynamic, 1 hour show reviving the spirit of a bygone era with the music of Ella Fitzgerald. Backed by only piano, bass and drums, Ella graces the audience with her interpretations of melodies rendered by The First Lady of Song. Tunes like How High the Moon and Somewhere Over the Rainbow are re-introduced in a new and vibrant fashion. Also, not so well-known pieces such as Spinning Wheel and Old MacDonald will delight audiences with a sense of lightness and fun.
  
  Having performed for thousands, "Ella Glasgow is a power house on stage," Sandy Merrill, Nashville singer/playwright.
