Biography
PO BOYZ are a high energy funk/rock organ trio featuring Hammond organist/vocalist Keith Hollis, guitarist/vocalist Andrew Wagley and drummer/percussionist Sean “Buzzy” Mannion. PO BOYZ explore funk music with searing vocals, explosive grooves, slide guitar and second line bayou jams. They will keep you up and dancing all night with their epic performances and feel good original jams. Their original songs visit gospel, soul, jazz, funk and rock, all melding together through the tube screaming sounds of the Hammond organ and electric guitar. PO’ BOYZ are a delightful addition to any funk, rock or jamming jazz bill.
Formed in late 2004 with their debut concert on Frenchman Street in New Orleans during the 2005 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival, PO BOYZ are on to something good and funky! Organist Keith Hollis has perfected his funky and soulful techniques playing with world-renowned musicians such as soul legend Solomon Burke. PO BOYZ recently opened for New Orleans Meter man George Porter, and New Orleans native Trombone Shorty at the 2007 Squaw Valley Funk Festival. PO BOYZ continue to play venues on both the East and West coasts such as Nectar's in Burlington, VT, and the Boom Boom Room in San Francisco. PO BOYZ hold a down a weekly Saturday night residency at the Middle East Club in Cambridge, one of Boston’s premier music venues. PO BOYZ always tour and perform with a real Hammond B-3.
