David Griffiths and The Praise & Worship Experience are a phenomena about to change the way we worship. Using the model of the late James Cleveland, David and his team of worship leaders from diverse backgrounds present an offering of musical worship that emphasizes intimacy and variety. From the deep broodings of the Negro spiritual to the playful groove of a CCM worship anthem they seek to show that God is glorified by excellent and authentic worship through varying ages and backgrounds. Their music brings the body of Christ together while inviting the unbeliever to come along.
As a composer, David has completed more than 300 compositions. Many organizations have commissioned his works including The National Aquarium in Baltimore, The Adventist Relief Agency, A Safe Place Inc.,The Allegheny East Youth Conference and most recently the prestigious Midori and Friends 3rd Annual Children’s Festival in Manhattan to rave reviews. In 2009 he was awarded the honor of the International Singer Songwriter Association’s Christian Songwriter Of The Year.
He has shared the stage with many performers including: William Murphy, Take 6, Clifton Davis, Wintley Phipps, Maurette Brown Clarke, Virtue, John Stoddart, and Ben Tankard.
David and PWE are currently promoting their debut CD/DVD David Griffiths And The Praise & Worship Experience. This recording features songs from his first published songbook, The Praise and Worship Experience Volume One.

The event was a release concert for “The Praise and Worship and Experience,” a songbook of sacred songs penned by the gifted pianist and baritone.
The concert included performances by Duawne Starling, Monique Steele Griffiths and more. The African American Voice in Classical Music, Patrick D. McCoy, paid homage to gospel great Richard Smallwood by conducting “Holy the Lord.”
The event was well attended and accolades continue to pour in for Griffiths. Among those in attendance was Stephen Key , a celebrated composer and arranger.
McCoy, who is also the DC Performing Arts Examiner, was impressed and moved by the performance.
"I am still amazed and overwhelmed by the enormity of David's musical gifts. His worshipful songs are still looping around, over and over in my head. One of the things that really moved me was how the community came together to help him realize this long-awaited moment. To share such a special moment with Griffiths and the awesome cast of stellar musicians he assembled, which included his lovely wife Monique was a special experience. In particular, it was my honor to conduct several of his arrangements, including a soul-stirring arrangement of Andraé Crouch’s classic, "My Tribute." ~Patrick McCoy, The African American Voice in Classical Music
