Biography

Experience the soothing vocals and relaxing music of singer/songwriter Khalil Madyun. Performing on piano and guitar, he will weave you into his world with catchy lyrics and melodies that stay in your head. John Book from okayplayer.com says in his review of Khalil's self -titled debut EP, "think of the best elements of Babyface, Me'shell Ndegeocello and Christopher Cross....he's a songwriter whose songs could become this generation's Stevie Wonder or Bernie Taupin".

Originally from Boston, Khalil has made New York his home and performs both in New York and in the New England area. In New York, he has performed at The Cornelia Street Cafe, Tula Kitchen, Rockwood Music Hall, Waltz-Astoria, The Perch Cafe, 169 Bar, The Triad Theater, The Cutting Room, CBGB's Downstairs Lounge, South Street Seaport and in Bryant Park. In Boston he has performed at Kennedy's Midtown, All Asia Cafe, and Kells. In Western Massachusetts, he has performed at Mocha Maya's Cafe and Udderly Delicious. Khalil has also done a Borders Cafe mini-tour to Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Setlist

A typical set is about 45min. to an hour of original songs mostly from the self titled EP, Khalil Madyun, released in June 2006 as well as samples of his most recent works. Cover songs include, Babyface, Brian McNight' s "Never Felt This Way" and "Anytime", Stevie Wonder's "Lately" and "Ribbon in The Sky", Corrinne Bailey Rae, Robin Thicke's "Lost Without You", Smokey Robinson's "Tracks of My Tears", Bob Marley's "No Women No Cry", as well as a few jazz standards.
