Biography

-”Her debut EP White Spot demonstrates enough deft touch and genuine talent to garner the beginning of a legitimate musical career.

Moris’ voice is layered with varying levels of anguish and ecstasy. Such vocal attributes manage to elevate the musical content of Spot: a beautiful-but-inoffensively slick production in the vein of David Gray’s work, pop disguised in a slightly electronic (and slightly forgettable) sheen. In other words, Moris opts to present a tough, unique voice rather than any kind of refurbished edginess.

…there are shades of Kate Bush, but also a little bit of the Adore-era Smashing Pumpkins and even some Bjork peppered about…the beautifully-slick, Alanis-esque “White Flower” –youthful, brusque, and pulsing.”

June Moris started to sing before she could even speak, and hasn't stopped since. At age twelve she enrolled in the local music school with a desire to play the guitar. Her parents, however, bought a piano, in which June found refuge from domestic difficulties, and she became obsessed with playing the piano day and night. Teachers deemed her no prodigy, though, and tried to discourage her from pursuing a career in music since she was "too old." Ignoring their advice, she persisted and, inspired by Chopin, started writing for the piano. She also studied electro-acoustic music, adding a few pieces of electronic music to her repertoire which earned her some radio airplay and a slot at several festivals throughout the country. June was then hired to write a piece for Dutch painter H. Van Goethem, appearing as a featured artist on his CD, and was also assigned to write a piece for a Rorschach tribute event.

Meanwhile, June's passion for singing and need to say things her way motivated her to write her own songs. She taught herself to play the guitar and then wrote and recorded two full albums and two EP's in 15 months, yet they languished unreleased.

Her debut EP "White Spot" was released in September 2008.
While working on her full album which is set to be released spring 2011 June has created a new project 's.
Dark little sister "Prison Dandy" was born July 2010. A first EP can be expected late summer 2010.
