Biography

John was a high energy young man from the start. At a very young age, John grew a deep passion for music. Spending long days practicing and honing his talent for playing instruments, four to be exact, and songwriting.

John started out catching the music bug at the tender age of 7. Entertaining people by the age of 14, John started playing professionally in clubs as a drummer for his dad's cajun, country band. And, like most young people he also played in a highschool Rock band, which by the way played paying gigs in Houston clubs, while the oldest member was 17 years old. After graduating highschool, John joined the Army and his music followed. Forming a band in Georgia, his band was a sought after act by clubs in Georgia and Florida.

After leaving Georgia, John decided to come home to Southeast Texas, home to Tracy Byrd, Clay Walker, George Jones and Janis Joplin. He was a regular guest on the Charlie Pruitts Country Music Show, that showcased Tracy Byrd and Mark Chesnutt before they got there start, held at the Jefferson Theater in Beaumont Texas. He was often selected to appear on T.V. spots to showcase him and advertise the show. He was also voted Entertainer of the Year by the audience, who voted every month in a 12 month period and at the end of the year John had the most votes, he was even voted for on the months he didn't perform.

As a result of his success on the show he was featured in Newspaper articles and was sought after by local area bands.

John Thibodeaux brings not only raw, pure country talent, but he brings honesty, integrity, and an all-american charm to the stage. His fresh, new country sound is greeted with open arms by fans, and his charismatic stage appeal only multiply with every performance. John also prides himself with his songwriting. A current member of BMI, John possesses a fantastic creative writing talent, as evident in his new debut CD "Simple Life".

Local guy doing good… If you listen to Kicker 95.1, you've probably heard us play "Simple Life," that hot new single from Grove's John Thibodeaux. It's the title-track to his debut CD that Thibodeaux recently had produced in Nashville, Tenn. "I went up there and spent four days in the studio and spent some more days sightseeing in Nashville and we got it done," Thibodeaux said during an exclusive interview on KYKR.
  
  In fact, the catchy title-tune as well as several other cuts on "Simple Life" were written by Mike McQuerry and Steve Waites (McQuaites Music), a couple of local songwriters. "I actually got the contact to the studio from Mike McQuerry. He does all of his demo work there," Thibodeaux said.
  
  Thibodeaux does some song penning himself; he wrote four of the eight tracks on his debut CD.
  
  Although Thibodeaux is new to the radio, he's no stranger on the local live entertainment scene. He was a regular on Charlie Pruitt's Country Music Show, which showcased Tracy Byrd and Mark Chesnutt before they got their first big breaks. In fact, the audience voted Thibodeaux Entertainer of the Year in 1997.
  
  Recently, the singer/songwriter and his new band did a two-night stand at Delta Downs' Gator Lounge. Thibodeaux and company put on quite a captivating concert; especially when you consider that it was only the second time that they had played together. It helps that Thibodeaux has some very experienced musicians backing him. Those veteran players include Laine Thibodeaux on steel guitar, lead guitarist Marcus Breaux, Eric Curtis on bass, and Nathan Currie on drums.
  
  As a front man, Thibodeaux is a force to be reckoned with. In addition to his fine singing, he alternates between playing a guitar and accordion. To top it all off, he's constantly dancing and "cutting up" on stage. The man knows how to entertain! These are medium market, commercial broadcast radio stations. More stations will be adding it in the near future to add to the list of internet stations already spinning John's music. This is a big step for John being an indie artist.
