Kelly Harper is going to dispel the nasty rumors that a beautiful blond is more fluff than substance. A fresh energetic performer with an unstoppable drive and an unwavering devotion to her craft. As a singer and songwriter she is her own woman. There's no question she's poised to make her artistic mark in a big way and she already has with the release of her debut Hit smash "New Best Friend " striking at number 38 for four weeks on Billboards R&R Top 40/CHR indicator charts. Proof that she is Armed with an arsenal of hit songs, tracks from her debut record are already being played on radio stations both nationally and overseas. Kelly was born and raised in the small town of Lewistown, Pennsylvania. An introverted young girl Kelly found her joy in Music. She would spend hours singing along to her mother's records performing for her dolls and stuffed animals. And it was music that brought Kelly out of her shell and into the limelight. Throughout her teens Kelly only desired two things, a stage and an audience. Kelly bought a piano and taught herself how to play it. "Performing was just something I had to do; it was like breathing to me. After graduating high school Kelly felt a yearning to travel and explore the world. "I always knew there was more to life then the small town I was living in. I constantly felt like I was going to miss something and never fulfill my dreams if I stayed in my hometown". The door to Kelly's freedom opened when a modeling agency signed her and took her to New York City. "It was an amazing time. I was working a lot, making good money and enjoying the nightlife of New York City. But all the while I was missing my dream and first love, music." After two years of nonstop modeling Kelly soon began to burn out and knew it was time for a change. With a notebook full of songs, her guitar and suitcase, Kelly walked away from a modeling career and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music dream. Always the go-getter Kelly began writing and playing with local musicians and songwriters almost instantly. Hollywood music supervisor Debra Baum chose the song "New Best Friend" from a catalog of over a thousand songs for placement in the feature film "Thanks to Gravity." Three of her songs have already been featured on the Bunim/Murray Productions number one rated show on the Oxygen Network called the"Bad Girls Club". MTVs "Road Rules" and "Real World" and most recently the new show on the "E" channel called "Living Lohan" have all licensed her songs. "I write the kind of songs I believe everyone can relate to. We all share the same feelings, and I think I've expressed those in my songs. I can't always say what I feel in person, but my songs allow me to say everything loud and clear". Kelly is currently back in the studio writing for Sony music and is working with producer "Rob Wells" on some fresh new tracks! Philanthropic musician Kelly Harper has the honor of receiving the 2013 Miss Germany ‘Queen of The Universe’ title. While Kelly prepares for her fall tour she will also focus on promoting awareness about helping the less privileged. Kelly recently returned to the studio with producer Rob Wells to work on her second CD. She has also been donating her time to benefit local and national charities, including recent appearances at “An Evening with NO LIMITS”, to benefit deaf and hard of hearing children as well as Free Arts for Abused Children.

  Kelly Harper, a talented pop/rock singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA, has won the Songwriter...Kelly Harper, a talented pop/rock singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA, has won the SongwriterUniverse “Best Song Of The Month” Contest for November, for her song “Till This Goes Away” (co-written by Rob Wells). This song will be included on her upcoming 7-song EP, which she will release independently in February (2010).
  
  
  Kelly Harper
  “Till This Goes Away” is a contemporary, midtempo rock ballad which sounds ready for radio play. The song starts intimately, with just Harper’s expressive vocals and a piano track, and then builds gradually through the verses. The song’s highlight is its powerful chorus, which has a full, rock band arrangement. This recording was expertly produced by Rob Wells, a Toronto-based writer/producer who has worked with several hit artists, including Adam Lambert, the Backstreet Boys and Selina Gomez.
  
  Harper was born and raised in Lewistown, PA, which is in the central part of the state. She learned to play piano when she was 11, and she was inspired by listening to such artists as Jewel, Sheryl Crow and Pat Benatar. Following high school, Harper decided to pursue both her music career, and a modeling career. She first moved to Los Angeles for two years, and then she lived in New York City, where she signed a contract and worked steadily with the prominent Click modeling agency.
  
  Harper subsequently elected to concentrate on her music, and returned to Los Angeles. In 2006 she recorded and released a full album called New Best Friend. The title cut “New Best Friend” was released as a single, and it reached #38 on the Radio & Records CHR (pop) chart for four weeks. Harper had good success with this album – several songs have been licensed for the MTV shows Road Rules and The Real World, plus The Bad Girls Club on the Oxygen Network and Living Lohan on the E! Channel. Her song “New Best Friend” has also been placed in the film, Thanks To Gravity.
  
  
  Following this album’s success, Harper formed a band and toured the Midwest and West Coast. She subsequently signed a production/distribution deal with a label, but it didn’t work out. However, she has continued writing songs, and she’s recently found an excellent collaborator with Rob Wells in Toronto, and with Marc Jordan in Los Angeles.
  
  “I’m looking forward to completing and releasing my new EP, and taking it to radio,” said Harper. “I will be doing a radio promotion tour, and I’ll be filming a music video. I’m also looking for management.”
