Gemini released their debut album entitled Evermore. Evermore is an album intended to take the human mind and spirit on a musical journey. A vocal-oriented band, Gemini combines intelligent, thoughtful lyrics, a variety of rhythmic styles, and instrumental improvisation. Simply put, Gemini has a new, eclectic sound, heavily rooted in jazz, with touches of R & B, Funk, Neo-Soul and Pop. The band wrote and arranged all the songs, and produced the album themselves. Intricate, hard driving drums, powerful guitar solos, funky bass lines, clever melodies, wailing horns, with clear, effortless vocals and beautiful phrasing...that’s Gemini.

Carolyn Perteete (vocalist) is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Duquesne University with a degree in music education. Carolyn has been singing professionally since the age of 21, focusing on jazz, samba. Currently she is a teacher at St. James School as well as the Afro American Music Institute. She is now working with Gemini as well as Sean Jones (Mack Avenue Records)…

Jevon Rushton (drummer) began playing drums at the age of 7. A native of Pittsburgh, Pa, Jevon began playing in church full time at the age of 9. He studied with James Johnson and Roger Humphries while attending the Creative And Performing Arts High School. Jevon has had the opportunity to play with such artist as Kirk Franklin (GospoCentric), Roy Hargrove (Verve Music Group), Sean Jones (Mack Avenue Records), Dwayne Dolphin and many more.

Chris Parker (guitar) is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is currently attending Duquesne University where he studies with guitar legend Joe Negri. He is also an accomplished drummer and performs in the Pittsburgh area regularly on both the guitar and the drums. Currently he plays with Gemini and freelances regularly with the area’s best young jazz musicians. Also, in 2005, he was awarded the Mellon Jazz Scholarship for jazz performance.

Kenneth Peagler (keyboards) is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He began studying classical piano at age 9 and jazz and gospel at age 15 while attending the Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts. Kenneth is a student at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. Kenneth has performed with many local and national artist such like James Moody and Charles Tolliver.

Jacob Yoffee (keyboards/sax) of Jacksonville, North Carolina, graduated from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD with degrees in Music Composition and Jazz Performance. Jacob has performed with Gary Thomas, Greg Osby and Mike Formanek. In 2004 took part in the Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead program at the Kennedy Center. He plays with Gemini, Sean Jones, Metaphor, Roger
Humphries.

Tony DePaolis (bassist) is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. Aside from brief periods of study with Dave La Rocca and Dwayne Dolphin, he is a musician trained by experience. He has been a freelance professional since the age of 15, playing jazz and rock. Tony has recorded with Jimmy Ponder and performed with Sean Jones and Roger Humphries.
