JOHNNY RODGERS is an internationally-celebrated singer-songwriter, pianist, and recording artist who is described by Stephen Holden, from THE NEW YORK TIMES, as an entertainer who “blends singing and patter into intimate, sophisticated entertainments that can't be found anywhere else.” Johnny Rodgers Band dazzles audiences with their enthusiastic musical melange of Americana featuring Johnny’s original songs and some classic favorites which celebrate the roots of jazz, blues, soul, country, rock and pop.

Johnny Rodgers Band were honored to be selected as Music Ambassadors for The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad tour to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands and for the Musical Overtures tour through the Middle East sponsored by Jazz at Lincoln Center and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. They shared their “American Roots” music with embassies, the local children and musicians in a cross-cultural performance and workshop exchange.

Johnny has won the Billboard and The Great American Song Contests and the ASCAP Foundation Award for his songwriting. He has earned the famed Nightlife, Bistro, and MAC Awards for his outstanding performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, The Royal Room at The Colony Hotel Palm Beach, Feinstein’s at Loews Regency, Birdland, Joe’s Pub and other premiere New York City clubs. He has also taken his performances to the Los Angeles Ford Amphitheatre, Arturo Sandoval’s and other jazz clubs around the country, festivals like Festival Miami at the University of Miami and to a 3000 sold-out audience at the historic Deering Estate in Miami. Johnny also performed for Billy Joel and Judy Collins at Lincoln Center’s ASCAP Foundation Awards.

Johnny Rodgers Band was formed in New York City in 2003, when award-winning singer-songwriter-pianist Johnny Rodgers created "The Band" he had always dreamed of to add musical depth to his road-tested original songs. Johnny pulled together accomplished musicians with vast experience who were familiar with performing in all styles from pop to jazz and classical. Johnny, Joe, Brian and Danny are influenced by the Beatles, John Mayer, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Elton John, Dave Matthews, Norah Jones, Lyle Lovett and Sting.

Johnny Rodgers grew up in Miami Florida and now resides in New York City enjoying the music and theatre scene. Liza Minnelli recognized Johnny’s talent and brought him on as her pianist and guest performer for her world tours. Johnny made his Broadway debut December 2008 in Liza's Tony Award-winning show "Liza's At The Palace...!" The show now plays on PBS television and is enjoyed by fans in DVD. Johnny co-wrote the lush ballad “I Would Never Leave You” for Liza which was featured on Broadway in “Liza’s At The Palace…!” and is currently performed by Liza around the world. The cast recording of “Liza’s At The Palace”, (Phil Ramone, producer) was released February 2009 and received a Grammy nomination.

Johnny’s recorded albums include Box of Photographs, Bound Together and Let’s Make A Date. “The Best Of You In Me” on the Bound Together album is available in a choral arrangement from Hal Leonard Publishing. This tribute song was voted #1 on the John Lennon Song Contest channel with world-wide fans voting on OurStage.com. The second EP includes Johnny’s big band swing duet, “Let’s Make A Date” with Liza Minnelli and has found fans around the world. In addition to Liza Minnelli, Johnny Rodgers has also performed and recorded with Michael Feinstein, Randy Brecker, Tom Harrell, Stephen Schwartz, and Ann Hampton Callaway, among others and is featured on the recordings; The Maury Yeston Songbook, Hallways: The Songs of Carol Hall, and Jule Styne In Hollywood.
