Artist Information

Biography

Joe and the Jungle, the first band to move inside the actual Internet (88 Doyle st., Google Country, Internet) embodies a unique blend of rock music, a sound as if Led Zeppelin teamed up with The White Stripes and John Lennon. The songs all vary in mood, yet share a common bond of catchy hooks and driving melodies, assaulting the boundaries of the modern rock genre from the very start with their critically praised debut album "Broken Amps and Fuzz Boxes." The album itself so far has sold over 19,000 copies to date independently through touring, live shows, and online sales to their registered fan base of over 169,000 and counting.

The band primarily consists of Joe Reilly and The Jungle, two friends who met at their University and formed the band in New York City in 2008 along with an eclectic group of musicians. Joe, who was born up in seclusion in the Swiss Alps while his parents were on a hideout from the law, focuses primarily on the themes of love, war and total independence of the soul, while The Jungle brings out the angst of youth, and the beauty of the analytic dream state.

The band recently completed a national tour in March, playing at classic venues across the entire country as well as a spot at the prestigious SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Currently the band is teaming up with one of Europe's largest touring companies, setting up a massive European tour for the winter/Spring of 2011-2012.
