Biography

DiXoN brings a unique sound of Adult Contemporary/Rock/Pop mixes. Different than other performers, Dixon provides a versatile mix of many genre and eras of cover song hits and award winning originals.

While Dixon is said to look like Bono of U2, and noted to resemble Patrick Swayze and Huey Lewis, he sounds like a blended texture combination of artists Richard Marx, Chris Isaak, John Mellencamp,and Bryan Adams and a twist of Lenny Kravitz. Fans of today’s Top 40, along with 70s, 80s, 90s Adult Contemporary and Pop Charts will enjoy Dixon’s music and appearances.

Dixons first album “In No Time Soon” released in May of 2008 portrays his original songs that tell the story of enduring both relationships and patriotism. The song “In No Time Soon” speaks of long distance relationships and the solace of being together again after a long overseas deployment. The song “Airman’s Reign” provides a salute to the Air Force and it’s hard working members, while the songs “ Wise One”, “Without You”, “Mixed Emotions” speak of the strengths one must possess to last in an enduring relationship.

DiXoN is a noted singer/songwriter stage name for Robert H Clark, an accomplished entertainer originally from Elkhart, Indiana, now a prominent residence of Pembroke Pines, FL, on the outskirts of Metro Miami-Fort Lauderdale in S. Florida.

Recently (Mar 2010- Apr 2011), completing a year long 140 show, 17 country, tour as a vocalists for the US Air Force’s premiere entertainment team, Tops in Blue, Robert brings his Hoosier musician experience to a inaugural launch pad of promising entertainment value in S. Florida as he releases his new original song list in the In No Time Soon soundtrack. The ten songs strike to the heart of enduring relationships and patriotism. The title song, “In No Time Soon” additionally placed as an honorable mention in a 2006 Song of the Year Contest. The song speaks about a long distance relationship during one of Robert’s own military deployments away from his wife.

Robert brings experience to the production of this new release from his freshman debut album “ Give Them Christ Love”, a compilation of eight original songs released on the Contemporary Christian Creative Workshop label in 1991.

He joined the Air Force in 1992 and continued promoting his compilation as he started his career as a Weather Observer while still performing in Montgomery, Alabama, and then making an international representation of his efforts in Korea.

He separated from the active duty Air Force in 1996 and actually stayed in Korea as a civilian student that performed on a Korean TV show singing a Korean Pop song in their own language, liken to American Idol, and was featured at Seoul’s Amusement Park, Lotte World, as foreign up and coming artist. while winning various club/local Korean venue contests actually singing original songs off his, then future, In No Time Soon song list. He returned to the US in 1998.

As Robert continued his career in the Air Force Reserve at Homestead ARB, FL and a career at Bellsouth/ATT from 1999-2005 it took an epiphany in 2006 during a deployment to Qatar for the Air Force as a forward deployed command historian for US and Coalition Forces, that he found his way back to performing and expedited his way into the local gig circles in S. Florida and took the time to craft his In No Time Soon album, completed in 2008.

Robert adopted the stage name DiXoN and has been performing throughout Florida and across the country in special appearances, as a reputable entertainer for parties, corporate events, weddings, and various military events. He has been featured in many military ceremonies with his unmistakable acoustic/folk rendition of the National Anthem. His selection as a featured vocalist for the 2010 Air Force’s Tops in Blue followed several years of notable performances including a summer tour in 2008 along the east coast appearing in such places to include Savannah, Georgia, Albany & Utica, New York, Hartford, Conn., Norfolk & Virginia Beach, Virginia, promoting his In No Time Soon release.

He continues his solo performance schedule into this New Year after returning from the Tops in Blue tour invigorated and ready for new fans and exciting venues as he promotes his album In No Time Soon and continues to get accolades for his own acoustic versions of many of today’s and yesterday’s pop/rock tunes. He holds his own as a singer/songwriter creating songs from the heart, and enlightening listeners with his soft/sultry tone added to many popular cover songs.

  3/9/2010 - HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE, Fla. -- One of Homestead Air Reserve Base's own is among the newest members of the prestigious Tops In Blue entertainment unit.
  
  Master Sgt. Robert Clark, 482nd Operations Group first sergeant, earned his spot with the troupe after attending the Air Force Worldwide Talent Search competition at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, where finalists competed in January. Clark received official notification on Feb. 16, that he made the team after placing second in the vocal self-accompanied category.
  
  Master Sgt. Clark, an Elkhart, Ind., native, was active with music during his school years. After graduating high school, he released a contemporary Christian album. After joining the Air Force in 1992, Sergeant Clark competed as an E-3 for a spot in Tops In Blue and made it as far as the finals, but was not selected for the unit. Later he performed on a Korean television show while stationed overseas.
  
  After straying from music for a while, Clark found it again while deployed to Qatar in 2006. After returning home, he began playing at clubs, weddings, and military retirements. Inspired again by music, he decided to send a tape of his performance to Tops In Blue.
  
  Master Sgt. Clark will soon be on his way to Lackland to begin two months of rigorous rehearsal, before embarking on a world tour of this years show theme: "We Believe".
  
  "I love being a first sergeant, playing music, and I love the Air Force; so this is a great combination," said Clark. "I am proud to be a member of the 93rd (Fighter Squadron). I feel in a way that by leaving, I am letting them down, but I know they know what a big deal this is. I greatly appreciate the opportunity they gave me."
  
  Sergeant Clark added, that he feels that being part of Tops In Blue is helping with Brig. Gen. William Binger's mission to "Put Homestead back on the map."
  
  Tops In Blue produces a revue-style show that showcases the most talented Airmen the Air Force has to offer. According to their website, the unit has to date, traveled over four million miles to military bases throughout the world, performed at six World Fairs, over 100 state fairs and festivals, and performed at countless air shows, military balls and special events.
  
  Master Sgt. Clark is the first Air Force Reserve first sergeant ever selected for Tops In Blue.

  Air Force Service Agency officials have picked 31 airmen to join the elite musical team Tops in Blue for 2010, but they’re still in need of talented airmen who can play the guitar, alto saxophone and trumpet.
  
  Seventy-four Air Force singers, dancers and musicians competed for Tops in Blue spots over nine days in January at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
  
  The 31 selected will spend 2 ½ months training at Lackland, then hit the road in May for a 10-month tour that includes more than 120 shows in more than 20 countries.

  The Air Force's top talents were chosen after nine days of auditions, rehearsals and interviews, which culminated in three nights of competition.
  
  The best performer took home the "Roger" award for first place and the second place winner received the "Wilco" award.
  
  The winners from this year's worldwide talent search are:
  -- 1st place in the female vocalist category went to Airman 1st Class Monique Robertson-Jamison from Lackland AFB. Airman 1st Class Jette Warnick from Cannon AFB, N.M., took second place.
  -- 1st place in the male vocalist category went to Staff Sgt. Harron Elloso from Langley AFB, Va. Staff Sgt. Sidney Okagu from McConnell AFB, Kan., took second place.

  In addition to competing for worldwide talent search honors, the entertainers also auditioned for spots on the Tops In Blue roster, which will be announced shortly.
  
  The winners of the worldwide talent contest were announced at an awards banquet at Lackland AFB Jan. 25.
  
  "With more than 300 Airmen who applied, the performances were extremely competitive," said Tom Edwards, the chief of Air Force Entertainment. "The live performances were amazing to watch because there is so much talent in the Air Force. We saw everything from vocalist and instrumentalist, from opera to a human beat box. The quality of the performances by the entertainers this year was phenomenal."
