She has teamed up with a partner, Noel Finney, to form Cattle Puppy Productions, which specialises in Second Life promotions.
"We just saw Second Life as a new way to help artists get recognised," says Roberts. "I definitely think that we are seeing the tip of the iceberg. Second Life brings about so many bits of the puzzle in so many ways."
The artists performing at the virtual gig will output their songs either through pre-recorded live music streamed into the Second Life venue or, in some cases, through a live performancestreamed into the world with the avatars lip-synching the lyrics.
"The end result will be that people will hear some Australian artists that they will otherwise not have heard," says Roberts.
Also appearing at the Hoe-Down Under will be Sydney bands the Maids and Extended Family, singers Megan Bowman and Dave Holmes and the jazz vocalist Leonie Smith, who already has a number of Second Life gigs under her belt.
