Biography

Becky Wright, named "Female Songwriter of the Year" at the 2011 Agape Fest in TX, is known across the USA and the world (via radio) for her impactful adult contemporary, inspirational Christian, and positive country music. A passionate advocate for orphans, foster children, and adoption (and an adoptive mom herself), Becky travels the USA singing and speaking at orphan/adoption events, women's conferences, college campuses, corporate events, and churches. Becky's latest recording project, "The Heart of Adoption", was released Oct. 2011. It was produced (and some songs co-written) by renowned Producer Robert Jason (Reba McEntire, Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama, Barry White). Becky's music and vocal style are an eclectic mix with influences of Natalie Grant, Martina McBride, Celine Dion, Allison Krauss, Linda Ronstadt, Kathy Triccoli, Amy Grant, Casting Crowns, Avalon, and others. Joanne Cash Yates said of Becky: "Becky Wright is more than just a great singer. She has the anointing of GOD; that makes all the difference in the world." (Joanne Cash Yates and her husband Dr. Harry Yates pastor the Nashville Cowboy Church.) The State of Oklahoma just released a television PSA promoting adoption utilizing one of Becky's songs in Jan. 2012.

After writing over 400 songs, she is now working on her first book, to be released in 2012. Becky is available to speak at conferences, Christian schools and universities, retreats, church and women's events in the USA and internationally.

She is a Staff Missionary of Artists in Christian Testimony, Intl, a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) based in Brentwood, TN. She is an Artist Ambassador for Kids Alive International (orphan rescue ministry), and a member of the Christian Alliance for Orphans. She is a member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Assoc. • Oklahoma Woman Named "Songwriter of the Year" 2011 [+ Show ]
  

  Becky Wright of Tahlequah, OK, singer/songwriter and orphan and adoption advocate, was named the “Fe...Becky Wright of Tahlequah, OK, singer/songwriter and orphan and adoption advocate, was named the “Female Songwriter of the Year” at the annual King Country Agape Fest Fan Appreciation Awards recently.
  
  The four-day Christian music festival, in its 11th year, was held just south of Fort Worth, Texas, in Granbury, Texas, bringing artists from across the United States. Wright also was named the 2008 Female Songwriter, and won Duo of the Year in 2006, with Tommy Brandt. She served again this year as a judge for the talent and songwriting competitions, and taught a workshop entitled “Defining Success: Pursuing Passion & Purpose.”
  
  Fifteen of Wright’s songs have been recorded on Christian and country artist projects besides her own albums, and three songs on video/film.
  
  Wright, a former music teacher, is the founder and director of Tahlequah Orphan & Adoption Ministries. The mission is to enlist and provide support for foster and adoptive families, and to “remember the orphan” next door and globally through various means.
  
  Wright is excited to collaborate with Oklahoma’s new foster care recruitment initiative, www.111project.org. She is an Artist Ambassador for Kids Alive International, a non- profit ministry to rescue orphans and at-risk children in 17 countries through child sponsorship, residential homes, schools and medical clinics — www.kidsalive.org. Much of Wright’s music and speaking events focus on orphan advocacy. Sunday Nov. 19th at 6:00 p.m., Becky will be sharing music from her highly acclaimed new album, “No Denying” (Lamon Records), as well as her adoption song, “Child of My Heart”, which is on a new project with STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN, Todd Agnew, and more.
  
  Wright (along with Tommy Brandt) was honored with the “Duo of the Year” Award at the June 3rd Agape Fest Fan Appreciation Awards in Texas. They were chosen for their adoption duet written by Becky, “Child of My Heart”, which is playing on over 500 stations worldwide. She finished as a Top 5 Finalist for Female Horizon Award, as well.   The concert was absolutely wonderful with such talented performers! For me personally, it was a wonderful show that uplifted my spirit and reminded me once again that God is in control. Setlist

Varies with venue and occasion. Adoption Concerts feature adoption/ family music, infused with faith and hope. For churches, original and cover songs of Worship (if desired) and originals from her albums. For marriage retreats, Coffeehouses, corporate events, restaurants, etc., set includes an original mix of adult contemporary love songs, patriotic country, children/family songs, etc. Play keyboard/piano, and CD tracks from albums.

In a worship setting, set includes modern worship songs by artists such as Darlene Zcheck, Chris Tomlin, Mercy Me, Matt Redman, Passion Band, etc., some originals, and often medleys of old hymns.

Concert tracks include titles from four CD projects, and usually last 1 hour. Some are shorter, some are two hours. Becky meets the needs of the venue and occasion. An authentic mix of great music, humor, and her poignant, riveting personal story combine to create a truly memorable event for attendees.
