BIOGRAPHICAL - Gary Procyshyn 2012

GARY WAS BORN INTO A MUSICAL FAMILY AND HAS GROWN FROM AN ASPIRING FUSION GUITAR PLAYER (COMBINING JEFF BECK, EDDY VAN HALEN AND ERIC CLAPTON) AND HAS EMERGED AS A GENUINE SINGER/SONGWRITER/GUITAR PLAYER. HIS SONGS ARE STORYTELLER REALISM WITH STRONG METAPHORS AND LUSH MELODIC HARMONIES AND HIS INCREDIBLE TECHNICAL ABILITIES ON THE GUITAR ARE CLEVERLY HIDDEN WITHIN THE SONGS WITH FEEL AND PASSION.

HE WAS AWARDED THE LENNY BREAU MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP TO MUSICIANS INSTITUTE IN L.A. TO ATTEND A FULL YEAR AT GIT. THE AWARD CAME FROM GUITAR PLAYER MAGAZINE AND MUSICIANS INSTITUTE AND WAS FULL TUITION TO STUDY WITH MANY GREATS IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.

HE PLAYED ORIGINAL MUSIC IN TORONTO AFTER GRADUATING FROM G.I.T. AND MOVED BACK TO WINNIPEG TO FOCUS ON HIS SOLO CAREER AS A SINGER SONGWRITER / GUITAR PLAYER / PRODUCER.

HE RECORDED HIS 1ST SINGER SONGWRITER CD "ONLY IF YOU'RE LISTENING" AND RECEIVED AN HONORABLE MENTION IN THE BILLBOARD WORLD SONG CONTEST AND AN HONORABLE MENTION IN THE INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING COMPETITION IN LONDON ENGLAND FOR HIS SONG "LIKE A STONE". HIS VOCAL ABILITIES AND POTENTIAL AS A SONGWRITER WON PRAISE FROM LOCAL PRODUCER CHRIS BURKE-GAFFNEY ( CBG ARTIST DEVELOPMENT) AND NASHVILLE SONG PLUGGER SHERRIL BLACKMAN.

TOSS THE COVERS
-This collection of incredibly unique Acoustic covers showcase Gary Procyshyn's amazing G.I.T. guitar playing and superb vocals. The songs are stripped down, real, unprocessed and the energy unleashed is very evident.

Crazy Train opens with a stripped down version of this classic complete with an incredible flamenco influenced guitar solo that would make Randy Rhoads proud and stays true to the original solo. Rush's Limelight is transformed into a slick finger style Jazz/Pop fusion. Basket Case undergoes a complete metamorphosis into a beautiful jazz classic.

You'll enjoy the humor in My Best Friend's Girl as a country polka and I'm an Adult Now's full circle from the 80's hit to actually "being" an adult now. The deep and broody version of Wonderwall is breathtaking and very emotional.

You'll admire the guitar playing, love the vocals and appreciate the very original presentation of all these tracks.

ONLY IF YOU'RE LISTENING
-After graduating from G.I.T. in Los Angeles Gary has found the true Artsist in himself as a Singer Songwriter / Guitar player. This 1st solo release showcased his incredible vocals and unique harmony style. The guitar playing is outstanding and unique avoiding the tradional while being varied and tasteful.

The lead off track Like A Stone won Honorable mentions in the Billboard World Song Contest as well as The International Songwriting Competition in London , England. Gary's talents won praise from Chris Burke-Gaffney (CBG Artist Development, Songwriter and Manager who helped Chantal Kreviazuk's career start rolling) and Nashville song plugger Sherril Blackman.

The incredibly original acoustic version of U2's huge single I Will Follow is a guitar players delight and an awsome listen for anyone who is a fan of Singer Songwriter unplugged covers. Ripe is an ambiant love song written for the loss and recapture of Gary's passion for music. Sorry is loaded with attitude from a bad break up and the guitar playing is proof of why Gary won a Scholarship for Guitar to G.I.T.

The album covers allot of ground with real true heartfelt emotion from realtionships come and gone. A listen to the title track Only If You're Listening and you will feel the pain of lost love. Sarcastic humor is captured in Wither. The last track My Song is a terrific homage to Gary's life, the ineviatable end we all face one day and the celebration of it we should enjoy while here at the last farewell.
