Biography
Anointed , Woman of God, Songwriter, and Worshipper. These are only a few words which come to mind when asked to describe this Powerful Vocalist and Gospel artist, Angela "Missy” Billups.
Known both nationally and Internationally, Missy has lent her talents from coast to coast. She has traveled all over the United States and abroad, touring Europe (Italy, Switzerland and Rome) and recently (2011) toured the beautiful island of Jamaica spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through songs. She has appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel (BET) as well as (3) times award Winner of the New York Tri-State McDonalds Gospel fest, etc….etc….etc.
When you ask “Missy” her how she does it, being the mother of three beautiful children, raising them single-handedly in the fear and love of the Lord, working as a Project Manager at IBM for 2 decades, being a profound giver of her time hosting a great food pantry every year feeding the homeless and less fortunate, always making time for someone who needs a listening ear, and always doing it with a smile, she simply replies…”To God be the Glory… It is certainly no goodness of my own, but by the sweet grace of God. I love people and I believe God has put me here to be a blessing in whatever way that I can and most of all to encourage and tell somebody that, “there is hope”.
Her debut project "Determined" earned her several appearances on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), her sophomore project,
"Churchin" only took her higher, gaining an appearance on the David Letterman show singing behind Actor, Steve Martin, traveling with HBO to Comedy Festival singing “Amazing Grace” as well as performance at a luncheon featuring the stars of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)
Now….. Her long awaiting new album “Standing on the Promises” is now available! The title cut was released in August 2011 at the Gospel Music Worshop of America
