Biography
A five year work-in-progress, Screamapillar finally crawled onto the music scene in 2002. Challenging the typical mainstream stereotype, this female fronted pop rock band puts forth a power beyond the average garage band scenario with a spunky, fun stage show as well as the musicianship to back. Screamapillar was formed by five seasoned musicians with a wide span of influences; their original material boasts a strong blend of their creative differences creating a uniqueness that is fresh to the alternative rock genre.
Screamapillar released their first full original album, "Users & Abusers", in September 2003. From funky pop rock tracks to slow reggae tunes, their album is diverse in sound. A powerful female vocal presence over tight instrumentals separates Screamapillar from a throng of other bands. With such a wide variety at hand, Screamapillar pleases many fans of varying ages in any audience at any given club.
The vocal ability of Jackieraye is strong and alluring while her fellow band mates compliment her talents with those of their own. Jackieraye’s musical background stems back from childhood to her early teen years when she began to pen melodic original songs with Jason Greenwood and sang in several local bands. Jason is a seasoned musician and prolific songwriter who enjoys writing upbeat, edgy songs. Ryan Waltemyer, the drummer for Screamapillar, also comes from a line of experience having played in several rock and country bands in Central Pennsylvania over the past several years. The newest member of Screamapillar is funky fresh Justin Boyd, who is their bass player. He is extremely talented and makes a great addition to their band.
With a penchant for local success and eventually striving for a regional market, Screamapillar has a strong will and determination about them that will guarantee top notch status in the local music industry. With can't-get-them-out-of-your-head songs, fiery stage presence and adaptability to relate to audiences on a deeper level, Screamapillar is looking forward to touching as many listeners as possible. Afterall, for Screamapillar, it's always been about the music.
