Hiding Scarlet was born in March 2011 after the previous band, Thought Prysm ( playing together for 7 years) attended the Millennium Music Conference. After learning much from the conference, we decided to push the band from hobby to a professional endeavor, a re-vamp of name, music and image brought us to Hiding Scarlet.
Bringing in a harder electric edge, Hiding Scarlet explores the darker aspects of our human nature. Through our music, lyrics, art and performance, we seek to give an entertaining, yet introspective experience.
We recorded our first album at Seventh Wave Studios (http://www.seventhwavestudios.com) with Jason Rubal during the summer of 2011. Having a producer of his caliber work on the album was a rich learning experience for us, and he helped us capture what we heard in our heads.
When we showed our music to a select few and asked them to tell us what we sounded like.... most of them said they couldn't really say. This is the end goal we were hoping for. Our influences vary greatly from member to member, which displays itself in our music. Tool, Dream Theater, Opera, Punk Rock, and Jazz are some of our influences.
Getting our ducks in order, (Having artwork, photography (Wraven Design wraven.com , merchandise, iTunes, CD's, vinyl, etc, etc ) we are VERY excited to be ready for the full album release late Dec - early Jan.
In short, this is the full endeavor of five people who could not live without performing music. It is our passion, it is our lives. In doing so, we pour out ourselves completely into our music, asking only that it earns a willing ear in return.

Its strength – the amazing musical fusion of many different musical styles, song for song intensity and solid musical performances from this impressive 4 piece. The music is progressive, highly original, intense, heavy and dark. The messages and vocal intensely are thought provoking and maycause your ears to bleed. Kudos goes out to the intensity, passion and overall vocal presence of lead singer Amy Fleming. But also to the behind the scenes work from guitarist Eric Dieter. Indeed Dieter and Fleming make a deadly combination. All in all this CD shines with the musical brilliance comparable to proceless gem. Need I say more?
