Biography

What do you get when you mix together a cup of Amy Grant, a tablespoon of the Bangles, a pinch of the Beatles, and a whole lot of love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ? ServantSong, of course! ServantSong offers a brand of Contemporary Christian/Catholic, Pop/Rock, Praise & Worship music that takes you on an emotional journey ending in the joy and hope of eternal life with Jesus.

Band leader, Dave Gawron, handles songwriting, keyboards, rhythm guitar, and vocals for the band. To make a long story short, he was not religious at all his whole life. God "knocked him off his horse" in 1995, and he went to the Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he became a music minister. He ended up writing several songs, got a band together in 2003, and recorded the GLORY BE album in 2006. Now, about the music...

Dave says, “I fell in love with Christ in 1995. The purpose of my music is to help others love Him more. Music is a powerful, emotional tool, so I use 80's pop and 90’s rock styilings (as a teen in the 80's, those genres were big influences) to draw people to our Savior.” He likes getting people in a good mood, feeling good about their faith, and his music reflects that. Some of his songs grow out of prayers and bible verses, others come from the experience of his own personal faith journey.

Setlist

We vary our set lists and list lengths depending on the venue. In more of a concert / coffeehouse setting, we play most or all of our eleven originals (and counting, as we continue to write new songs) and fill with other Contemporary Christian favorites. In more of a Praise & Worship setting, we tend to cover more of the current popular P&W songs. Our most recent program is entitled "Road to Paradise." Deepen your faith as we sing songs and pray together. We'll search for Christ, find Him, join Him in His kingdom of heaven, and praise Him with all the angels and saints. You'll enjoy some original songs from ServantSong's "Glory Be" album, plus new originals, plus a few Contemporary Christian favorites like "I Can Only Imagine."

In general, some of our favorite songs to cover are:

Awesome God (Rich Mullins)
Hungry (Kathryn Scott)
Open The Eyes Of My Heart (Paul Baloche)
Power Of Your Love, The (Darlene Zschech)
Shout To The Lord (Darlene Zschech)
