The guitarist is just a monster player. Great vocal sound, again like nobody I've heard, but still classic sounding -- I hear maybe traces of Joey Ramone, Anthony of Chili Peppers, Jim Morrison and Iggy Pop in his style but not really sounding like any of them. I watched the video and listened to the audio. I thought they were great. I cant imagine these guys not getting a record deal -- if there is such a thing anymore, and if kids still buy records. But they're a live band and I could see them getting asses in seats. Except nobody will be sitting, they ll be rocking out."

  The revolutionary hard rock n punk band, BACKLINE, was elated to get a message on their myspace on S...The revolutionary hard rock n punk band, BACKLINE, was elated to get a message on their myspace on Sunday from Mark Sovel, host of Indie 103.1 FM's popular Sunday night show 'Check One Two'. The message read, "listen to the show tonight... I'm playing your stuff!"
  Check One Two is an LA based show, devoted to featuring unsigned bands with original material... and BACKLINE submiitted their original songs for consideration. But so do throngs of Southern California hopefuls.
  The show opened with an original song by BACKLINE and immediately after it aired, host Mark Sovel came on the air and said that BACKLINE was a band from Thousand Oaks and added "it gives me faith that rock and roll regenerates itself."

• BACKLINE 'Riot In The Quad' [+ Show ]
  

  When BACKLINE, the revolutionary hard rock n punk band, performed at the Quad in a lunch hour perfo...When BACKLINE, the revolutionary hard rock n punk band, performed at the Quad in a lunch hour performance ... a mosh and near riot broke out when they launched into their song, WASTED YOUTH.
  A school official jumped onto the stage and started pulling cords out of amplifiers and ordered the band to stop playing and ordered the huge crowd to stop the mosh and return to class.
  BACKLINE was accused of 'promoting' the mosh, contrary to the guidelines of the performance. The band defended itself, saying that the mosh promoted itself when they played their set. "It spontaneously combusted", one observer said. The performance video shot by the school which held the truth was 'erased' before it could be viewed. So it seems, rock and roll still has the power to drive listeners wild... and rock and roll still has the power to do the same to the establishment.

Needless to say, (but we will), BACKLINE is interested in working with you. Marketing and PR wise, we feel like we slip into a booming and powerful pocket of modern revolution rock n punk... UNIQUE, but compatible with many of today's new artists. We write like fiends and we rock like fiends because we HAVE to. Our set is all original with no covers. The BACKLINE creative volcano is spewing wildly and the rock keeps erupting... and the resulting all original SOUND coming out of SoCal is unmistakably... BACKLINE.
  This ain't no vanilla rock, emo, screamo or hip hop. And it never will be. We hope that the near future finds us sitting down together to look into the distant future.
